Just discovered your channel. Would be awesome if you put an estimated age on the finds that you dig up. That is always interesting 👍😊

The inkwell is a beauty, one I don't have in my collection. Awesome finds!💖

Thank you Cynthia. Cory was so happy to find that for his first find. A definite treasure. Thank you for watching!

So fun watching you pull all of those beautiful bottles. The Sanford inkwell was my favorite. Guess on the little thin glass tube, maybe used to crush pills into powder.

Thank you! That ink is an awesome piece, Im a little jealous it was Cory’s first find! This was a super fun dig. Cory and I together can get some work done. We spent a total of 5 hours on this one. Far to many for one video. The 2nd half of this dig next week 😊 some really great bottles. Thank you for watching!

Always amazes me how a light bulb stays in one piece in all the rubble. Some nice finds guys 🙌 there was a small bottle sticking out the side at 5.52 when ya pulled out the Red Cross bottle. Looked like a nice ink pot.
@oldwoodentrunkadventures2 жыл бұрын
Completely agree it is amazing the don’t break. Thank you! That was definitely an ink at 5:52. I can’t remember if we saw that one. I’m thinking it was broke but maybe we missed it 😂. Thank you for watching!

The small glass tube is either a piece from an old glass syringe or from an old thermometer.

You find lots of Listerine bottles but not many early Listerine Tooth Powder tins, even rusted!

It is pretty cool. Even as an antique collector and dealer I had never seen one. I was pretty amazed by it. Love to find one in nice condition.

Got a question for you? On the bottom of a bottle is just the number 50 its brown not sure if it was beer or what but since im new to this what does the 50 mean?
@oldwoodentrunkadventures2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Tough answer though. More than likely it is the mold number the bottler used for that particular bottle style. Sometimes it’s a date.

1964 I was 5.. Are you interested in selling the igloo ink? If not I would most definitely understand. I've been digging for about 5 years and have never sold a bottle. Also should you find another Igloo please keep me in mind. I feel the small tube was a plunger or an applicator of sorts. My last two days of digging all I found was a marble for each day : ( Thanks guys. See ya's on the next. Bottle in the hole
@oldwoodentrunkadventures2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bruce, don’t think we want to sell this one but definitely would sell you the next one we find like it! I agree with you on the plunger idea. I was thinking maybe an old syringe or something. Happy hunting out there, we haven’t found a marble yet this year! Can’t wait! Thanks for the support Bruce. See you on the next one!

how do you get the inside so clean
@oldwoodentrunkadventures10 ай бұрын
Great question. On a one family dump like this one. It’s on a hillside that drains really well so the bottles come out pretty clean already. First soak em, course salt and a drop of dish soup and shake. It’s peels off most of the loose stuff inside. If it’s stained then I usually don’t show them. I feature the clean ones but lots are stained and require tumbler to clean.

Maybe a glass mixing stirrer.

You nailed it. I did end up figuring it out and mentioned it in the video after that one. Thanks for the help.

Part of a syringe more than likely.

That is what we thought as well 😊 We actually discovered they are from inside old light bulbs. We have found a lot of them since.

Are you guys kind of new at hobby because you don't seem like you really know much about what you are finding. That round bottom bottle is not a torpedo. Torpedo bottles are more pointed. Some of the things you are finding I find in 1930's dumps.

Yes Larry this video is over a year old and at the time I had only just started digging. I documented every dig from the day I started and learned a lot. If you watched a more recent video, you could see that.
