Hi Tom, I don't know if you watched it the other night but there's a program on BBC4, called the history of landfill and they go around different landfill sites in the UK and see how the type of rubbish it we dump changed over the last 120 years or so, and the first one they went to was Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, where in about 1890 part of the beach is used as a tip for about 8 years and they dug Down about a foot or so into this sandy bank and it was literally bottles and codds and jars and pots they were literally coming out in bucketfuls! Love to have a dig round there! The programme will be on the BBC iPlayer. good luck with that site.

With every effort I commend your spirit, I say you have a major job on your hands there seems to be a massive plot there and still many uncovered pieces of history. That ink bottle label was cool and I strained to read it, 😆 thank you as always.

These videos are so satisfying! I’ve never had the luck of finding any tips in Cornwall, so I find myself outsourcing my “fix” on KZbin lol! :’) thanks for the uploads!

Cornwall will always be a hard place to find some tips. Had a look my self when i surfed there a lot. Most tips were any handy hole in the ground near by. Cornwall is full of super deep mine shafts i bet therers loads that are now super deep tips!!

Hey Tom, we hit a site over here once which looks very similar to the site you are at, we dug it for weeks until we figured out our richest digs were on the edges of the quarry, the middle parts were scarce and you could push a probe for 40 feet without hitting the bottom if you know what I mean. Stuff got snagged on the edges is what I’m saying, keep hitting it mate I’d be ringing in sick if I was you !

Have no idea what you can get for an embossed bottle in UK. I'd be willing to bet that every one you find would have a buyer at ten pounds each if you offered them to your viewers. Even the ones you think are common.

Tom do you keep all of your finds or do you sell the duplicates? If you do sell where do you sell them? Gee whiz get out of there if it is going to cave in! Yikers

Digging fresh faced tip with a shovel?, no wonder you're breaking bottles. Try a garden fork mate.
