does alc % & bottle size affect carbonation... I've been having carbonation issues with "big beers" 8.0+ abv DIPA's... bottled in large 32 oz swing top bottles... how much yeast do you recommend?

Bottle size does not. The amount of alcohol can impact carbonation. If you had a high alcohol fermentation, you may want to add some yeast when adding your bottling sugar, in your bottling bucket. You could add at a rate of 1 gram per gallon. A strain like ec-1118 would work well for a high alcohol environment.
