Let's hope 1. the return of M. Laine comes sooner rather than later (and actually steps up) 2. Marty gets some much needed veteran assistant coaching to help him out and 3. the boys connect the dots and fix the leaking tires of this wreck of a season. ps on a positive note, I thought they were playing better and more defensively against a very strong Minnesota Wild team. Also, work life balance is key brother, all the best.
@ehbcd13 сағат бұрын
I would much rather just see Marty get replaced by a competent NHL coach, it's an insult to the players to keep a coach that's in over his head and give him an assistant to advise him. This is hurting our young players development and it needs to stop.

So going into the preseason I thought if they could muster challenge for a playoff spot I'd be happy but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. Then I got swept up in the preseason and was really hopeful that they'd make the playoffs. Reality check. So let's take some positives. They're almost a quarter of the way through the season and they seem to have at least figured out special teams. They are currently 9th in PP% and 18th in PK%. Not last, which is good. There biggest problem from what I can see is their general organization in their own end both with the puck and without and it's a big problem to have. It's a coaching problem. Not putting blame on MSL. Maybe it's a new system for them and, once they figure it out, they'll get back in the mix. Last night, as boring as the first period was, that's how you play a road game, slow down the home team and take the fans out of it. They made some key mistakes as they tend to, and weren't as creative around the net as they normally were, but Minnesota is a legit contender this year. They've been building this team for a while. I just hope the Montreal management can ignore the rabid fanbase and keep their vision. Great content as always.

The fact that, so far at least, we're playing worse than last year tells me that the stress of having to perform got to them: the players and probably the coach too. Maybe Marty stays on this year, but if he can't make some omelette with these eggs, perhaps a coach with more experience is required. This year is still not that important. But when the anchor contracts are up, Demidov is in the system, Lane has a bit more xp under his belt, we need a coach to put this team together; maybe it's Marty, maybe not.
@mikebishop443013 сағат бұрын
