The bloke who plays the gas man is Mark Lambert, an old university friend of Rik. They were both after the same girl but Mark won and Rik said this was his revenge.

Hands down, my favourite episode of a comedy ever. Bottom is one of the greatest shows of all time. Also, fun fact: Brian Glover and Rik Mayall both starred in the film 'An American Werewolf In London', filmed around 10 years before Bottom, in the brief scenes at the beginning of the film.

This was the first episode of Bottom I ever saw 😂, I’d never see or heard of alternative comedy and never saw the Young Ones. I was waiting for Lethal Weapon to start on ITV and put this on to pass the time and as soon as I saw this scene I was like, stuff Lethal Weapon, this is much better 🤣 Edit: That banquet is probably the best Eddie’s eaten in a long time 😆
