In case you haven't already been told, this episode was the pilot, and was recorded in 1989, 2 years before the rest of series 1.

From what I’ve seen so far, his comedy genius and talent is going to be like an endless candle, lighting up my memories. He’s a comedy tour de force.

It’s 10 years this year 😢

@@nope66755 I know. When the news broke I just couldn't get my head round it. Then Robin Williams died 2 months later. Those two had such energy.

@@jonnycola86 oh don’t remind me. When I first heard the news about Robin I went to my bedroom, shut my door, and had a bit of a breakdown (not a mental breakdown obviously, like an emotional breakdown.) That man was as present in my childhood life as some family members were. Also is it just me that feels like it was around 10 years ago that the whole world started to go to shit? Like things getting worse In lots of different ways?

13.17 "You really should be on Channel 4" is a reference to the Channel 4 show, "Friday Night Live" (later changed to Saturday Live) which showcased stand-up and all the up-and-coming comics in the 80s. It was basically The Comic Strip Club on TV. Ben Elton hosted, Lee Evens was on there, so was Jo Brand, Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse. It was a showcase of talent. Rik and Ade performed as The Dangerous Brothers on there. It was common at one time when people were funny to say, "You really should go to Channel 4".

@@YorkshiremanReacts26 it was a sketch show "A Kick Up The Eighties" , way way back in the 1980's 🙂

@@thomaselliot2257 the 80’s isn’t that far back in my mine. A lot of my favourite music/films/people/trends/cars are from/were born in the 80’s.

This used to when I was about 16 (just a couple of years after the series ended) would have me in hysterics, I honestly or when watching it for the 1st time lol when I literally didnt think I'd ever stop laughing lol. I have to wait after a while of seeing some of these eps or I walk down the street trying not to laugh lol. God I miss Rik deeply lol.

If you mean on KZbin then I already have. I’ve checked all the playlists that come up, a lot of episodes are missing and then there’s the quality. This is my first time watching these episodes and I don’t want have to spend more time trying to work out what the hell it is I’m looking at because the stupid knob who’s uploaded it has done it through 2002 dialup. Fucking bbc twats should get it on iPlayer. How can they have limmys show and still game available but not Rab C Nesbitt Ffs?! Fucking nonce enablers.
