Skyward Sword has a pretty neat forest as well! Though I admit it wasn't as ambient like in BOTW

IT does feel like a woods, except sadly in truth it is still a corridor, since the mist that gathers around link when he strays from the path results in not being able to explore a majority of the woods. Because everyone kept getting lost in them, just like real forests.

"it feels almost as though this song has been playing since the beginning of time, perhaps even within a layer of reality unto itself." I had a similar unforgettable experience with this area on my first playthrough. The various trees with hollowed faces was particularly eerie: there is no telling precisely how many Deku Trees have come and gone. So exquisite!

Quite well done. The haunting eeriness with the playful laughing and the ever repeating notes evoke the feeling of insanity. The insanity of doing the same thing again and again, passing the same tree.. or is it the same tree? This creates that feeling of lostness and disorientation. You could in fact be searching the lost woods forever. You've successfully captured the original and evolved it to be your own. I look forward to hearing your BotW epic orchestral medley.

The frenzy of the piano fills one with apprehension, while the sweetness of the violin, triangle, and (I believe) harp tend to allay those fears. What is forthcoming is significant and (perhaps) strange, but not to be dreaded; it is, in a word: sublime.
@Kylin_Phoenix_Vartilo5 жыл бұрын
This is a very beautiful rendition of the piece, marvelous work! I think it sounds less, hmm, 'trippy' than the original; but it still is in that strange boundry between peaceful and rather unnerving, which I like. I only wish there were a longer version!

I know the laughs of children in this track are supposed to represent the Koroks, but the morbid side of me kind of likes to think of them as the laughter of the spirits of children that have wandered into the woods and never made it out. Yeah, I'm kind of a fan of disturbing things like that.
