I'm lovn' the content! After showing my GF a few of your videos, she has really opened up to the idea of boudoir photography. It's still a slightly touchy subject, but it's definitely much better than it was a year ago. I appreciate this even more since I have merged her as my business partner for my photography business. Having her there to help with lighting, taking some shots while I fix things up, or helping the model with the posing has been a big upside to the flow of my shooting/editing process. Thank you for having the ability to adequately explain the boudoir process, reasoning, and business side of it to have even your average person understand. The best part is that it could be applied to all type of photography/business! If ever you're free to talk and have a coffee or boba in the LA area again, please let me know! I would love to talk to you and share each other's experience with photography thus far. I love your site and everything that it represents. You'll be able to find my work at PedroCastroPhotos . com - or on IG @ Pedrock1312 Keep up the fantastic work! And if I could submit a question, it would be, "Has there ever been a time where you have overbooked yourself? Has it happened more than once? If so, how did you overcome it?"

The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) has model contracts for everything that are free to members. PPA also has equipment and liability insurance and many other benefits. PPA also has local, national and international contests. But, they're not good for newer photographers because the entries are top of the line, world class images.

Mike, awesome videos! I really appreciate how you brake things down for us. Q: would you do a tutorial for photographing older and or bigger women? Sounds crazy but my models are all over 40, have had kids and are not hard body 20 somethings so its can be a little more challenging finding the right poses.

Always love these Q&A sessions. I have a few questions for you. 1. On the subject of pricing and packages, what items do you include in each package? 2. Could you also go a little more in depth about what you talk about with a client when you do a phone consult and an in-person consult? 3. What do you do if the client has bad skin (like bad, acne) and the skin smoothing action isn't enough? 4. How do you take care of the make-up and hair on your client? Do you have a go-to MUA and hair stylist? Do you have the client come with makeup and hair ready? What about when you travel? Thank you so much, Michael!
@MichaelSasser
@MichaelSasser 5 жыл бұрын
That is a lot of questions! Lets see how I can answer them. 1. Pricing and packages, this is something I go over in depth in my boudoir accelerator course. You see my full pricing guide and a 20 minute video of me walking all the way through it with the why of each item. That section is worth the cost of the course in itself. www.sasserstillsboudoir.com/photographycourse/ 2. I'm really just trying to relate to them, outline the experience, let them know that I'm going to be taking care of the hard stuff etc. 3. I have my go to MUA's. They have to use them to shoot with me. When I travel I find someone highly recommended in that area. I hope that helps!

This may not work for everyone, but i have found that your demeanor and tone also affect the model's comfort level as much as the words you choose. If you can make yourself non-threatening and make the model feel safe, you can say almost any words (not that i recommend leaving your mouth totally unchecked). A lot of it is to truly listen to the model and try your best to empathize with her. Understand what she wants and how she's feeling.
@MichaelSasser
@MichaelSasser 5 жыл бұрын
Definitely. I have clients that are more comfortable than others, but as a general rule, to keep this professional and not cross any lines, I think it is good to use this kind of language, ESPECIALLY if your client isn't a model, and just an everyday woman in her first time having a photoshoot like this.

Hi Michael, you have amazing content, and thanks for sharing your know-how. Could you please explain if you pay those models who are participating in your instructional videos? Or, do they pay for your photography service? This is confusing for most of the photographers who mainly want to find models who agree to do TFP cooperation and or models shall pay to photographers. Glad to receive your feedback. Thanks again.

I would watch this video for more info on that, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnqWk6eihrCLbtU But the short answer is, for the models in my videos, they are mostly trade shoots. For the my boudoir clients, they are paying me.

LOL! The Famous Cool and Collected Michael Sasser Flustered by a 12 year old! See it Here! I would say "It's a channel to help photographers that have their own business". One of two things would happen; That kid will let it go in one ear and out the other, OR he'll ask the channel name, and I'd give it to him. Who knows - you might totally inspire his career trajectory! Imagine how accomplished you would be if you started when you were 12.

As always Michael, great advice so the way without taking down to anyone just positive content. Yes, the one I really liked was the effect on I quote 'your significant other' lol. I've had this, not easy. The term Boudoir had my wife in a spin haha. Maybe because it's a really old word and back in the day kinda had a different meaning of you get my drift. My wife has slowly come round, but a great call to suggest taking her on a shoot. Going to do that to dispell all the remaining negative and wrong impressions left she (Julie) may have. Thanks for this video. It's quite brilliant actually. Well done as always. Edward UK. 😊 EJMPHOTOGRAPHYANDART

Probably around 190 or 200. The biggest thing is to see her as beautiful. It is much easy to photograph them in a flattering way when you stop thinking about how it is such a challenge and start thinking about showing what is beautiful about them. That said, I would check out Teri Hartfords "Confident Curves" She does a great job explaining posing tips for curvy women.

I had just started giving a go at boudoir shooting to see if I also have what it takes and find that I LOVE the interaction with the subjects...getting them from very nervous to, "Can you send that to me right now or can I take a pic of the back of ur camera and share with my friends right now, because I love it so much?!"
