I have owned my original Ovations for 35 years ... Breadwinner, Deacon and a Magnum II Bass ... they've have been my main guitars pretty much my entire life. I really appreciate your passion and dedication to this project - they are sensational Guitars.

Ken, it IS great to have you back in your shop with the Deacon! That trick with the band saw, I've done myself. The more teeth the blade has, the smoother the shape, you are a master at it! Made it look easy! It's not! Some would have used a trim router bit and a template, but you did it the hard way! Band saw and a sander! Great! This is gonna be a fantastic guitar! Hope the Camry turns out good. Again.......glad to have you back! Thanxz

Yes! Best gift today. That headstock is really not easy. Would be easy on a 4 axis CNC or a copy carver, but who has it? Maybe some fixture to keep the neck at that angle and 3 flat segment cuts with the bandsaw, then switching to an iwasaki file. That'll eat up some time, but there isn't mch sanding to do with those files.

Very cool. I had a 12 string model years ago and really liked it. I wonder if you could cut that fairly close on a belt sander using a 2" wheel or so.

Maybe just use a sharp gouge chisel for the headstock?

I have an Ovation acoustic, If you need the profile of the headstock, let me know! measurement etc...looking at mine your best bet is a Dremel with a sanding bit.

Funky Pat , I appreciate the offer but I have two ovation necks here in the shop already that I can draw measurements from. Thanks
