But how does this cover effect tone? Will it sound different that a factory cover? I usually run without one to get a "More Open" sound.

That's awesome! I shopped plastic suppliers, hardware stores, etc...and had limited luck. I like making things from scratch whenever I can too (made my own fret press cauls and inserts). Well, I did find suppliers of quality large sheets, but... I knew their had to exist a suitable common product, but hadn't found it. I purchased an aftermarket pickguard that looks great (new), but the material seems a bit soft. That glossy black clipboard looks perfect and tough. Going on a Cabronita Tele. Thanks. I checked out your fret leveling video first, then saw this video. You have a new fan. Cheers

Certainly a hell of a lot more stable than the thin stuff some of the guitar companies use. Good job Ken.

that is a great idea, but what I want to know is how to cut the plastic to shape without certain machine tools. I don't have a router . thanks

do you have a sander?
@Ibaneddie766 жыл бұрын
USE A HAND SAW, HACK SAW, ANYTHING THAT CUTS WILL WORK THEN SAND IT AND HIT THE EDGES LIGHTY WITH A TORCH TO MAKE'EM SMOOTH AND SHINY HINY HO.
