This is a video on our search for our perfect loop boat. We never thought the search would be so exhausting and go to so many states. We also didn’t expect to be disappointed multiple times with the boats we looked at. But our search for the perfect boat finally paid off and our Maiden Voyage warning! They said do NOT cross Lake Michigan today but we did anyway! Say hello to TrEd Water!
Thanks for watching and please like, subscribe and share your comments. We like the feedback and enjoy hearing what you have to say.

@@tredingwater144 well the clue is just enough speed to raise the front a bit so it goes over the waves instead of through them meaning they wont break the boat down and that will also prevent the massive hits for each wave and everything inside would get pounded a bit but not totally demolished.Boats can normally handle a lot more than the captain can but a good one knows the limits etc.

One piece of equipment that I would recommend getting is a set of two-way headsets. They aren’t called “marriage savers” for nothing. Also I would strongly suggest that anybody walking on the deck while getting on or off the dock wear a floatation device. In the locks, you will find that it’s a requirement. So get in the habit now. One last piece of advice, communication is the key. You can watch “What Yacht to Do”, Sam and Rev are great at communicating with each other.

Gosh, I love those yacht boats. If I was younger and single, I'd be living on my yacht... being I make pretty good money somewhat. Boating is exciting to me. Adventure!! I had a little 16ft ski boat once and me and my wife went out on it about 5:00 in the evening traveled about 20 miles to see the fire works on the water beside the North Carolina battle ship in the capefear. It got dark. When head back and we got lost in the inlet. Full moon was out. It was beautiful, but I keeper on riding. My wife fell asleep. Finally made it to the channel at 3:30 in the morning. Long story short. It was an adventure. It was scary but we both had fun when we look back. Oh...no navigation systems. Lol

Congratulations on your new boat. However, very unwise to take the boat across the lake! If you said you checked the weather reports yourself and based on the pattern, you saw it differently, that is ok with me. I have been going out on the Lake for over 50 years, in all conditions. It's much different than the ocean. Obviously many of the people commenting are not familar with lake Michigan. Yes, 5ft waves are ok, but when you are dealing with wave interference, it's a whole different ball game.

Anybody that hasn't boated on Lake Michigan has no idea...it's the most dangerous lake in the United States for boating and swimming. It's shores run parallel, causing unique wave shapes. The confused shapes of these waves combined with high windage make boating treacherous and contribute to rip tides, one of the most dangerous and deadly things swimmers can encounter.

Congratulations. THAT boat is $money$, it’s one thing to buy it and it’s another thing to operate it. He’s running 20MPH, that consumes about 100 gallons of fuel per hour. On a 6 hour excursion, that’s 600 gallons of fuel at $4.50+/- per gallon….that’s about $2,700 to go out to lunch and back. Do that 4X a month and it’ll be better than $10 grand. For some…no worries.

But…… we have NOT performed the renaming ceremony yet and now I think Neptune might be a little upset with us at the moment. But…. Bananas have not been on the boat yet either. So in some ways we are safe. This is risky business we are in the middle of for sure. BTW thanks for following along on our adventure.

Thanks for following along on our journey! It was most certainly foolhardy. Although it was not completely ignored I did spend time after receiving it studying the weather ahead of us and made the decision to press on after not seeing anything too alarming given our time frame. Of course should something have happened on the water which slowed us down then it would have been 100% a foolhardy choice. Luckily that did not occur and the lake only began to “wake up” as we arrived at port.
