I restarted photography last year buying and OM-D E-M10 with a couple of primes because I had a Helios-44 58mm prime in the film days. Switched to Fujifilm X-E4 after six months, with 27mm and 56mm primes. Now I have an S9 with 24mm and 45mm primes. Never used the a zoom, well the Fuji XC 14-45mm a couple of times but I prefer using primes. Great video.

What irks me is that Panasonic does not sell its Lumix cameras in South Africa only online. You can find Sony, Nikon, and Canon sold in stores locally..

So weight wise, you found the lumix primes to be great? I’ve seen some people complain that even tho they’re lightweight for the s9 they’re still pretty heavy for that body. Thanks for the video!

It really depends on the person and their tolerance for size. I think everyone is slightly different. I for one use both Lumix and Sigma primes on my S9 and find the combo no big deal. When sitting on a table the camera can be unbalanced but when in hand no problems.

I think it depends how you hold the camera. If you’re one handed, you may not like it. If you use a grip and generally shoot 2 handed, they’re great

Yes absolutely. The S9 uses the same sensor as the S5II series. Excellent low light performance.

You can get any M to L Mount adapter. Leica sells the official M adapter L but that one is pretty expensive.

For S9 use, those Lumix lenses are all way too big, their compact lenses seem to be slow at f4.5 and f8. I wish they did something similar to the sony FF prime trio in size and aperture. That 28 Simera looks interesting, although I like to shoot street at 24mm.

I think you showed some great lenses. I think that the s9 is very attractive to those on a tighter budget, so I have some lenses for the L-mount that are wallet friendly. I Use the 7Artisans 50mm F1.05 a lot on my Sigma fpl, good subject sharpness wide open and incredible corner to corner bokeh. If you need more compact there is the extremely affordable ttartisans 50mm f2, which has some great reviews. Also there is a PerGear 35mm f1.4 which is maybe the least expensive lens out there for full frame with this large of an Fstop. Also, lots of bargain vintage lenses in the 1.4 range, these add lots of unique flavor to your images. Dont be afraid of Manual focus lenses, the punch in focal aids make it easy to get the focus right and the camera will still adjust the exposure automatically if you want it to.

hey! kenshi what part of a camera rig do you think is the most important i've been saving up for a monitor but it doesnt seem as import since i can use the camera screen but a handle bar or top handle might be a better first thing to buy, what's your opinion on this?

I would say, the monitor. But if you shoot for long hours, v-mount battery is actually something you wanna go for first
