In '06 I bought my '67 Cougar sight unseen in Arizona. It had been sitting for 20 years. I flew out, and my brother and I spent a few days getting it running before I drove it 1300 miles back to Texas. No major problems getting home.

I like that! And I get it, you get a van like you had when you were younger, the misses will start going on some trips with you, AND haul your bike there too. Moto-camping is cool and all, but we ain’t gettin any younger, and if you’re like me, it just ain’t as much fun if my better half isn’t with me.

Awesome pick, Cory! LOL, okay, now I expect to see some "van rebuild" videos coming! Starting prob with a air conditioner recharge if you expect wifey to be traveling with you! She's definitely a keeper, most wives I think would have been "You don't really need that do you?!" She's got plans on how you're going to do the rebuild! LOL

Never had a van that new but, I have had several of them from back in the day. I could tell you some stories but, nobody has that much time. One of my favorites was my 67 Dodge, loaded up with my 56 Panhead and 70 Triumph Bonneville 650 choppers and everything else I owned, running through the Socal Grapevine. Baby, those were the days. Still think about those old vans but, a new Mercedes Sprinter would be mighty fine. Be good to yourself.

Two years ago I traded my 1978 Ford f350 camper special pickup truck that I inherited from my uncle for a fully restored beautiful 1977 FLH shovelhead . I have almost 8000 miles on the bike with no problems . I still think about who got the better end of the deal. At least that boat of a truck is out of my driveway and I get more miles per gallon on the bike vs the truck. I do miss driving that truck .

I had a snubnosed 1974 Econoline Van back in the day. It was my first home for a few years before I sold it to two old-timers as a crash pad down on the Tennessee River back in the early 90's. Mine had 60's all the way around on Crager Rims with a 302 v8 and 3 speed automatic on the column. I sure miss that old beater. I built a 48 Pan while living in that thing. Good times...

I called it.. knew it was going to be a old school van.. great for camping and using to haul a bike or just be the chase vehicle.. before I bought a bike between the age of 16 and 23 I drove my buddies 78 Chevy short van.. had cragar rims, side pipes, no windows except the back doors, and had a great running 327 in it. Had one hell of a stereo system and I would drive it as the chase vehicle...

What a cool vehicle! Looks very comfy, too. I wish you tons of fun with it. Regarding the AC: the one in my Subaru Impreza stopped working, too. The guys at the shop told me it needed a complete replacement and made a generous offer of 1.600 € although the compressor was still turning. I told that to my husband, and all he said was "no". After taking a closer look at home (the car still had a little bit of guarantee left, but we decided to ditch that in favour of a home repair), it turned out it was the magnetic valve. I ordered a new one for 35 Euro including shipping. And that was it...has been working for three years now.

Also another great video where the Mrs's contributed to the video.. keep it up.. it adds something to your videos that majority of biker channels don't have.. and is your nickname BooBoos.. the motorcycle scene has always been part of the custom van scene as well.. they're cooler than a pickup with a topper or camper and provide dry space to sleep and room to keep extra parts and tools.. plus the women can drive the van and do their thing while the guys ride the bikes..

Vans (Shaggin' Wagons) and choppers always went together like bacon and eggs. I remember chopper and custom van shows happened all the time back when I was a kid. Of course, there's only so much shag carpet in the world, so the van thing has kind of died, but for a while there, vans were cool as could be.

I had the Ford key right. Coming from Washington or TN I’d be worried about rust but it didn’t look bad in the video. Hopefully it’s not hiding 50lbs of bondo. If you can get that RPM at about 1800 doing highway speeds ether by transmission or rear and gear it would prob get low to mid 20MPG.

Looks like cool ride. Pray that it does not have he optional FORD OEM variable Venturi carburetor still on it. Back in the day, it was those carburetors that kept plenty of auto repair shops in business. A good many People ended taking off the carburetor and replacing it with a Holly that was me just to f Replace that application. Oddly enough it works so well that Ford sued Holly as there vehicles we’re now not returning to the ford service garages is for repairs. I got an 82 Ford with that horrible carburetor on it after we replace it with the holly vehicle ran like a new vehicle. Hope your purchase treats you well if you have any questions about the club please just contact. You’ll know you have one of those dastardly carburetors There are no butterflies in the carburetor they’re like sliding tracks that move up and down to suck The air in. Trust me, it was not one of Fords better ideas. Ford had to do something for pollution controls and fuel economy back in those days going to manufacturers were scrambling to do everything and anything to abide by the government rules. Should’ve just like now government jamming damn I forgot we need battery powered cars but who can afford one. Well enjoy that fun ride and enjoy in the best of health both of you.
