That area was known at the Amory back in the 60's and 70's. Motorcycles swarmed the area. Around 1974 two young teen agers collided on a bridge crossing (Westmoreland Rd) and died. The cops cracked down on riding the area. In 1988 I bought my first mtb and that was the first place I went. Tony Tennant and I started tying together some loops from the old motorcycle trails. The rest is history.

Now that you have ridden in some of the most iconic places across the country, what is it like coming back to Dallas? How is the air and humidity? Do you find the trails easier than before? How do you deal with sand now that you've seen loam? It's funny, that wooden jump at 2:45 was something I would never hit when I lived there, but now it just looks like dropping off a curb.
@huntstyle5 жыл бұрын
Honestly... they kinda suck, lol! I really like to be able to ride downhill for extended periods. I don't know that I'd say the DFW trails are easier afterward, because it's just a different style of riding. So what I've taken from bike parks and big mountain rides doesn't apply very much to the DFW trails. I'd say fitness level is the #1 thing that'll help around here. And yeah, I'm just now gaining confidence on drops. I think bike park jumps have helped with that, because I look at drops as just the 2nd half of a jump! They always look more intimidating than they really are.
