this so hella fun and satisfying and so underrated 🙂

Two key forces act on a skipping stone: gravity, which pulls it down, and lift, the reactive force of the water, which pushes the stone up each time it hits the surface. If the lift force is greater than the force of gravity then the stone bounces up; otherwise it sinks, now you know

They say 45 degree projectile will give maximum bounces

if u toss it like a frisby it can go further with more skips. The shape doesn't matter much but the thinner the better. My total skips are 17.

I like when I am able to bounce it like 8 times in a row

You should make a video 👍

@@rtechreviewsmaybe 👀 the trick is more like of maintaining it in an horizontal angle + throwing it close to the groud I'd say.

I feel like the word pebbles should be used for small stones, stones for medium sized ones, rocks for big ones and so on

This is pretty cool though since it bounces pretty high.

If you want the rock to skip multiple times, make sure you throw the rock parallel to the water and have the rock spin quickly to bounce on the water
@dinglequandale857410 ай бұрын
Also having small, dense rocks really help you add more spin
@rtechreviews10 ай бұрын
Parallel isn't as effective as hitting it at 45 degrees... Learnt this from another channel...

Does it affect the rock skipping if the pond is either deep or Not deep
@rtechreviews Жыл бұрын
Doubt the depth has anything to do with it but the wave patterns may make a difference

If you just throw it onto the water it will do 1 skip but if you add more spin to the stone it will skip more.

@@rtechreviews no you should throw it at a 20 degree angle downwards and the stone should be 20 degrees upwards with as much spin as possible if there’s not spin it’s just gonna flip over. Watch MARK ROBER video on it.
