Robbie is phenomenal host for this show. He's above average for a relative novice at the majority of the things he tries, yet he seems to have no ego about it. The amazement that he, fairly naturally gifted person, has for the experts at a craft is what makes the show. I love his humility and I aspire to develop it.

I have a major problem with this: The physicist said that he used a 93 mph pitch as his parameter for the projection, considering that the stone is a little bit heavier than a baseball. However, the angle is completely different. Submarine pitchers (basically underhand) only throw around 80-85 mph because of the mechanics necessary to do that, so I think that the number would probably be lower than 93.

One day in June of 1985 me and a friend were walking through a park. There was a stream to the left of us by which we were walking along through the park as we were heading to go up on some train tracks that crossed the stream at the end of the park. As my friend and I were walking along the stream we walked up upon a boy and girl sitting next to the steam . I noticed that there were pink sandals laying about 40 feet up ahead in the grass . One sandal was laying about 40 feet directly ahead of us while the other sandal was laying about 8 feet to the right of the first one . I also noticed that the boy was chucking stones at the sandal that laid directly ahead. I said to him " HERE , I'LL SHOW YOU HOW ITS DONE " I then looked down at the ground next to my right foot for a stone to throw , and INSTANTLY A STONE MATERIALIZED NEXT TO MY RIGHT FOOT ! The stone appeared to be of a smooth round disc shape about an inch or so in diameter and of a dark gray or black color. I really didn't take any time to examine it because the very moment i picked it up i felt an urgency to throw it , so immediately upon picking it up i threw it in the direction towards the sandal that was laying directly up ahead. At first it just took the typical curve of something being thrown , but then half way to the sandal the stone took a sudden 45 degree angle downward trajectory and headed straight towards the sandal. The stone struck the ground right at the heel of the sandal then went underneath it ! The stone then somehow began to barrel roll the sandal over and over and over to the right until the sandal was a few feet directly behind the other sandal ! The stone then somehow flipped the sandal about 8 feet up into air and towards the stream ! The stone then somehow took off zipping through the grass extremely fast and went underneath the second sandal . The stone then somehow flipped that sandal up into the air towards the stream , the stone also somehow went along with it ! It actually flipped it into the air at a greater velocity then the first one . That second sandal along with the stone caught up to the first sandal as it was half to the stream ! The second sandal hit the first one and they became entangled. The two sandals and the stone flew toward the stream then landed in the stream together. As my friend and me went to where they landed in the stream we noticed that somehow the sandals were laying perfectly next to each other with right foot sandal on the right and the left foot sandal on the left like they would normally be positioned. Unfortunately when i looked at the sandals in the stream i didn't think about the stone and walked away , so i don't know what became of the stone . My friend walked away scratching his head. There were many other people in the park near by that witnessed this happen.

Tiger H. Lore dude I was thinking the same thing. I wonder how much time he spent finding those stones just to have them thrown in by some Scrub. But I'm sure it means more to him to be teaching somebody how to skip rocks.

I used to be really good at this, but I once threw into the sea, and the stone curved around a wave front and actually came back at me at high speed! I have seen this happen to a golf ball in a head wind too, where the ball landed yards behind the tee!

It's all about arm speed, spin rate and launch angle. Manufactured stones and sticky substances would easily push spin rate past 3k.
