Finally I found a tutorial that even I can understand. Thank you very much!

When cutting the center and Y cuts of the buttonhole, a seam ripper can give you better control than scissors. The seam ripper has a pin point and a little way down from the tip a U-shaped razor with the cutting edge on the inside of the U curve. The pin point goes into the corner and slides in until the razor begins cutting the fabric.

Just the tutorial I needed. Thank you! I'm very interested in the marking chalk you use in this video. Can you share the brand and where to get it? Thanks!

Happy it helped 😊It's a special ink for leather, I bought it in Ukraine, but I believe you can just type "leather marking pen" on Amazon and you'll get many options. I have the silver one.

Отличное видео, спасибо! В целом про пошив кожаной куртки видео снимать не планируете?

This is very nice. I'm wondering if you could deal with the raw cut edge on the inside leather by cutting it (before sewing) and rolling over the edges, using contact cement to hold before sewing through all layers? Maybe not practical, I don't know.

Oh, that's a great idea to explore! I'm actually not a fan of the raw edge, just aesthetically. And I'm planning on exploring other ways of doing buttonholes 🤓

One of the downsides that come to mind right away is that it might be too bulky.

Wonderful tutorial! Finished buttonhole looks beautiful! Where can the chalk pen be purchased?

Glad you liked it! I bought them in Ukraine, they are simply called pens for marking leather, but you can type that on Amazon website and you'll get similar pens options. And it's not really chalk, more like a special ink.

I tore a button off my leather jacket which is lined? Is there a way to sew the button without having to cut the lining out or having to sew through it??
