Explain more scenerios. What if fielder is behind boundary line, jumb up and pushes ball to field area in air such that no contact with ground on the instance when he is in contact with ball and landed again behind boundary line and then ran to game field and then completes catch. Out as per previous law. What about new law. Explain in detail about such scenerios. The ones that your video is showing is pretty simple and basic details which probably every cricket followers will be knowing.

Part 1 : Fielder goes out of the boundary before touching the ball. Fielder has gone out of the boundary - this can be anything from touching the boundary to fully going outside the boundary. As he is not yet come in contact with the ball, no action with respect to a catch or boundary can be taken at this moment. Part 2 : Fielder comes inside the boundary (within the field of play) and still he has not touched the ball. He is perfectly allowed to do this. And he is yet to come in contact with the ball. So, still no action with respect to a catch or boundary can be taken at this moment. Part 3 : Fielder takes the catch after coming inside the boundary. And now we have the fielder in contact with the ball. This is a very important action which determines what decision has to be given. Either it could be out or boundary 6. Now, let's see what the laws say (latest MCC Laws of Cricket 2017 Code). It emphasizes on one very important point. For the ball not to be considered as a boundary it should satisfy the following statement. “fielder’s last contact with the ground before making the first contact with the ball should be completely within the boundary (field of play).” Here in the above question, even though the fielder briefly went outside the boundary, he eventually came back in. Now, before making the first contact with the ball, his last contact with the ground was within the boundary (field of play). So, it cannot be considered as a boundary. Now he completes the catch and stays within the boundary. So, it is a fair catch.

No. The ball must remain in play within the boundaries of the field. Whenever fielders catch the ball at the boundary line and throw it back in air, the catches are taken within the boundaries of the cricket field. So the ball is still considered in play within the boundary limits. You can take the catch within the boundary line, throw the ball in air, cross the boundary line, come back and take the catch - this is allowed because the ball is still in play within the boundary limits and YOU WERE INSIDE THE BOUNDARY LINE WHEN YOU FIRST TOUCHED THE BALL If a player crosses the boundary line without even touching the ball and then catches the ball outside the boundary line, it will be considered as six. This is not allowed.

That will be a six. It is determined by where a fielder had last stepped before making the first contact with the ball. In your case, the last step before first contact was outside the boundary. Therefore, a six.
