got mine today, if you look at it with your visor it is labelled as an Explorer, with 110 storage, 60 tech. And you're telling me it has good fighter stats, so it's a very well-rounded machine (pun intended) :)

I love this ship! It fits my gameplay style perfectly. I'm always flying around in a fighter wishing I could have an explorer with a bad temper instead. They made one. I am happy. I am a spikey leaf on the wind!

Hey Ricey, I know it seems redundant, but if you add the A and B engine upgrades that you build for the hyperdrive and strangely enough also add the emergency warp drive, that you build and get the adjacency bonus just right, you should be able to get a few more light years in range. Just to give you an idea of my stats, I’m on Xbox, so of course no mods and I’ve got 410 damage/ 71,126 DPS on my infra knife, shield 324.1, hyperdrive 1889.6 and manoeuvrability 1363.8, hopefully these stats help other get a reference of what can be done with this ship and maybe even find a way to make it better, without mods. @@embracethemystery Sure no problem I will try to give as much detail as possible to hopefully make it as easily understandable as possible, first of all I formed a 2x3 vertical rectangle shape with my components or modules for the pulse engine so as to get good adjacency bonuses, At the bottom of the vertical rectangle I placed the sub light amplifier module, this was to the right of a supercharge slot, on the right hand side of the vertical rectangle I had stacked 3S class upgrades for the pulse engine, when I say stacked, I mean one at the bottom, one in the middle and one on the top of this vertical rectangle, on the left-hand side of this vertical rectangle I had the A class flight assist override (advance starship pilot) module at the bottom left position, in the middle I placed the A class instability drive, at the top of this left-hand side I placed the pulse engine itself. In addition to the upgrade modules that I applied to my ship, I also built all of 7 starship engine trail modules and the Artemis figurine, plus the polo figurine, The additional starship Trail modules are directly below the vertical rectangle of the pulse engine modules, although I’m not sure I get any kind of adjacency bonuses doing it this way, however I figured it couldn’t hurt to have the second rectangle adjacent to the first one, I also wrapped the polo figurine and the Artemis figurine by the starship trail modules, meaning within this horizontal rectangle that I placed the two figurines in the middle, having starship trail modules surrounding them as much as possible, of course they are all placed together to obtain the best adjacency bonuses. Keep in mind I got a few of those starship trail modules from some previous expeditions so I really don’t know if they’re all easily available, however I have a total of seven starship trail modules, Plus the two figurines I mentioned so basically this is a 4 x 2 horizontal rectangle with one of the additional Engine Trail modules directly below the polo figurine. So in reality I only used one supercharged slot you could always experiment by using more of the supercharged slots. The challenge being you don’t want to lose adjacency bonuses in most cases, however sometimes it works out if you want to use more supercharged slots, just as an example by me using three of the super charged slots, I was able to get my manoeuvrability up to 2121.2. My main concern was to have decent manoeuvrability while having really good damage from the infra knife, but of course this might change depending on how you want to maximize your ship. Keep in mind you might even get better results if your 3S class upgrade modules have higher manoeuvrability stats, I rerolled my upgrade modules a few times to get better stats but I did not spend a ton of time fully maxing that out, based on the numbers I have on my current upgrade modules there is still room for improvement. As an example the upgrade module in the top right hand column of this vertical rectangle has 15% manoeuvrability 12% boost which is fantastic I think that might be the top stats, the one that is placed in the middle has 12% manoeuvrability and 12% boost, so if I were to re-roll that numerous times I could probably get my stats up higher, assuming I got another 15% manoeuvrability module, The last module in the bottom right hand corner of this vertical rectangle has 14% manoeuvrability and 12% boost that is the one that I put into the supercharged slot, I tried swapping the modules around a little bit I even tried placing the one with higher manoeuvrability of 15% into the supercharge slot and strangely enough it did not make a difference to the total outcome of my manoeuvrability statistic. But clearly there is a little bit of room for improvement on at least one of those modules. If you are looking to get the numbers even higher and you’re OK with the time and the tediousness of doing this, you could purchase X class upgrade modules from pirate space stations and re-roll those, however I myself do not have the patience required to do that anymore. Sometimes those X class upgrade modules have even better stats than the S class modules, the problem is, most of the time those X class modules have horrible stats and it takes a lot of time to re-roll those modules. Anyways hopefully this is clear enough and it helps you out, have a good day, cheers.

The Boundary Herald is great, but it has fewer storage than my interceptor which I've named "All Hopes Not Lost." So I'll probably be visiting planets with my interceptor more than the herald. Being a saucer-shaped vessel, I renamed my Boundary Herald "Dinner with the Unknown."

Swapping camera between 1st and 3rd person - open the menu as normal, with the camera option selected press CTRL and a number. It'll put that number on the menu item. Now, you can just press that number anytime to use that menu item without having to open and navigate the menu. PC only ofc.

I was far too green the first time "The Cursed" came around and was completely knackered by the expedition but since then i played thru "Adrift" and learned all sorts of things. Im about halfway through exp 16 now and lookong forward to getting this ship. Everyone calls it a "UFO" looking ship but i cant be the only one to see a very star wars-ish looking ship. Kind of like if The millennium falcon, the Outrider and the "Jump Master" were mashed together.

I'm guessing my game files are nerfed, the cockpit glass is missing and can see though to an empty ship body. Thought it was a glitch since it's like this on other saves and other players ships in the anomaly 🤷🏻‍♂️

It has the variable wing configuration and a almost hauler class capacity. Most important it has the 700 plus maneuverability. And 1300+ hyperrange. Gonna get rid of my exotic 8 ball ship because my inventory is full. Replace it with that hedge ship.

My opinion on the Ship type. It’s an Explorer. The fact that you start the Expedition with an Explorer is a dead giveaway. It’s just that now we have an Explorer with teeth. Just like the ship it’s obviously modeled from is a hauler /tug ship that got upgraded to be a pirate ship.

The major issue I have with this ship is its a frikin nightmare trying to land this thing and in alot of cases summon it via X command. The collision mesh on it is way to fcking big so you just get constant "Cannot land as landing area is not clear". Annoying as hell. Looks nice and has plenty of upgrades already added.

I named mine ‘The Century Sparrow’ 😂 One of the best ships in the game. I favor others visually but you get 2 quicksilver items for free and the Infra knife is your base weapon! I think the Bobblehead affects your launch thrusters because I launched with 10% fuel. The jet trails add to your maneuverability when you add Pollo and the Stealh trails you get a big boost but Pollo in a supercharged slot makes this thing scream! I used 3 slots for Maneuverability with pollo in the center of a cross at the bottom left Supercharged slot. The other 2 are the pulse engine and an S upgrade. The last solo slot is for my infraknife.

I've been wanting a UFO class of ships in nms for the longest time hehe but to only get 1 as a custom ship is a little disappointing cause the lopsided look just makes it a little ugly to me.. mostly because that chunk on the left side looks patch on and not really part of the ships modal.

I mean, you only need one portal.... it makes no sense to have a bunch of quicksilver because its not like you need to keep discovering portals. just discover one portal, put down a base computer there and then you just warp back to that portal whenever you want to use it. simple.

Short answer, NO. The ship actually SUCKS.... no joke. its terrible to see out of in first person view, and it has terrible maneuvability to it and its just average at damage. The Starborn Runner is so much better in EVERY category. I scrapped my boundary herald because it is the worst S tier ship I have ever come across. the only cool thing about it is the outer hull. but that is just cosmetics.

This guy doesn't know he can see the stats and the class of any ship from outside ship. He is counting the slots by hand. The cringe is unreal. He doesn't know S-class upgrades are trash compared to X-class. He doesn't have any high tier X-Class modules already opened. He is testing the ship like he has 10 hours in No Man's Sky. He doesn't know how to check stats from a save editor. What's so special about a high hyperdrive range ? What is the purpose of going 2000ly instead of 1000ly ? If it moves like a donut then it's useless to have 534763737ly range.

True, im like 2 Month’s into this game (love it) and there is SO MUCH more you could squeeze out of this „abomination“ of a Ship… I prefer Royal Exotic 7s, they are the best Allrounder Ship’s! Look sexy, with streamlined curves and the cockpit is BY FAR the best looking/animated in the game.

You don't miss the freighter defense battles or pirate dreadnought fights? I do just the opposite - never jump in freighter, but always summon it immediately and scan the system. I have all freighter upgrades maxed at this point so really I just continue to do it like this for the fun. Certainly faster your way :P
