If the oil has a specific gravity of 0.9 and kinematic viscosity of 1 stoke, calculate- (i) Boundary layer thickness at the middle of plate. (ii) Shear stress at the middle of plate. (iii) Friction drag on one side of the plate.

Well presented. What is confusing me is how the flow rate in the boundary layer is lower than "U", but the Bernoulli principle states that a faster flowing fluid is necessary to create an area of lower pressure. Given this, is there a distance (some delta) at which U is exceeded (that is to say, u>U)?

how can we calculate boundary layer thickness for very long plate ?, the answer coming with common formula for 50m length is around 300mm we all know that practically its not possible? plz reply why the boundary layer thickness become constant after a particular length of plate n what is the theory behind it the answer should be less then 150mm
