Liked the trip you took , but the background music really takes away from the beautiful nature sounds. I like to hear the birds singing and even just the water as you paddle. Makes for a very serene, peaceful video.

I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for the scenery and camp shots. I have been on Dissapointment and Thomas Lakes. I have always liked Thomas Lake.

Great video! Loved the time lapse of the stars, I can only imagine how bright they make the sky up there! I hope to get to the BWCA in '21!

Great job editing 👍. I wish there was more commentary and explanation. There's a lot to learn about those trips. Mad respect for the commitment and hardships. Boundary Waters can be gruelling at times.

8:45 can i use the 16 oz propane tank with that minimo? TIA. Great video.

I'm sure you could if you built some kind of conversion hose to connect it. Not sure it would be worth it though.

When did you go in, around opener I'm guessing? Springtime can be really fickle up there, same with fall. Out of 3 spring trips in the last 2 years, I had 10-20mph winds for most of the trip, with the occasional calm day. Last fall I had an amazing trip with amazing calm nights and one placid day on Knife Lake that I will never forget. This fall I had 20mph winds and rain! Both times of year are worth it to me though, for fishing in the spring and perfect temps and no bugs in the fall (fishing as a bonus but it has been shut off for me both years).

Yea we always go during the memorial day week, so a week or two after opener. This trip was definitely the worst we've had for weather , rain/wind everyday. Fishing is usually good for us though early season, and no bugs is always a plus!

were you catching fish on disappointment? Caught a few nice walleye on the east side of the lake this year.

Yes they are copper grill mats. Awesome to have! www.amazon.com/AltoFresh-Large-Copper-Grill-Silicone/dp/B073VMS2JT/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=ZBR69PV8IW6S&keywords=copper+cook+mats&qid=1580141993&sprefix=copper+cook+m%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE0WlVGWk1ISkY1UDAmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwOTk3OTAyMEdSOUc2UEZESUpIJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxODA4MjExRjhEM1VLWFFKTFVDJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Looks like a great trip in spite of the weather and nice job on the editing. How did that cooking mat work directly over the fire? I've been wanting to try one but didn't know if it would hold up.
@Ddubz10005 жыл бұрын
Jason Foerster Thanks! The mat was amazing, can cook pretty much anything on them and held up great. Relatively cheap as well at ~2$ , would definitely recommend one.

@@Ddubz1000 I’ve read on the BWCA.com message board that these copper mats are not intended to be used over a direct flame. Did you have yours directly over the fire or on the side? Thanks and great stuff with all of your videos!

One of the most forgotten items, spatula. Over 300 paddlers drowned 2018, most didn't have lifejackets on. Or zipped. I don't know temperature. I swam on youth, high school, Navy, college teams. Lifeguard for 15 years. Survival schools. I wear mine.

Cool video but I'd consider lowering the volume of the horn that is used to censor the curse words in future videos. Waaaaaay too loud compared to the rest of the audio.

You don't find much worth hunting. Big game like moose and whitetail are very rare and the only birds worth it are grouse.
