Hey Rick, I also got the LRP this Christmas. It's been warm here in Michigan and I got to take it out Christmas Day. I knew nothing about it, but just in coin mode o. The nearby old school yard in 20 minutes I found a 1962 silver quarter in very fine condition and 6 silver dimes. Took it out two more times and found nothing but junk, beginner's luck Maybe :-). But it has been acting erratic after the first time out. I have a strange question, but my girlfriend got this unit off of Amazon and when I opened the box it looked like it had been possibly reboxed. Question, when you opened yours, was the coil completely sealed in the plastic bag or was there a slit in the top of the bag to slide it out? I'm trying to determine if this was returned unit for some reason. It's so intricate that maybe something's not working correctly and someone realized it and returned it. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the in depth explanation of the Land Ranger Pro. I just bought one of these today at Sports Authority who is going out of business so everything is on close out for $135.00. Went to the beach for an hour and ran it on Disc J and found 86 cents, 6 beer bottle caps and 3 soda can pull tabs. I like it better then my wife's Garrett Ace 250.

Thanks for this great video. By far the best I've seen for explaining and teaching all the features, which helped me home in on ordering a LRP, which was right in my budget range. (Upgrading from an old model Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100) Coils to the soil!

I just got my land ranger pro yesterday I can't wait to take it out. Thank you for that awesome review. I have been doing a lot of research about this metal detector and others that cost around $500 and this land ranger pro blows it out of the water with all the features it has I paid $266 with free shipping came in 5 days. I used to have a T2 SE that i paid $900 but had to sell but I'm sorry I do not see a big difference in land ranger pro and the T2 SE besides the $634 price difference. I really do think you get a high end machine for a low price!

Hey. Great video. I got my LRP back in August, I've written a lot of helpful info on the TreasureNet forum. I liked the LRP so much I bought the Quick Draw Pro as well. I can change the lower rods without removing the coil to use the 10" concentric on the LRP and 11" DD on the QDP. One thing you forgot to mention, is that you can enter AM mode at anytime from the disc modes by holding down the "mode" button. Releasing the button places you back in the disc mode.And you can manual ground balance in AM mode all the way to 0 (salt beach) and it carries over to modes 2,3 and 4 as well. Great video though, for a great detector. Phantasman

I have both the Bounty Hunter Platinum and the Land Ranger Pro. Both are good detectors, but I prefer the Land Ranger Pro. Seems to offer better discrimination levels and more responsive overall. I have higher priced detectors, but like the lightness and ease of use of the Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro. The VCO on Land Ranger Pro could be better, but it does work. Overall, I like the machine.

Do you find the Land Ranger Pro a better all around detector than the BH Platinum Pro with the 11" DD coil? Thanks for your opinion.
@dann10819 жыл бұрын
+E Tex Shooter The Platinum is a Teknetics platform, iron range 1-39. The LRP follows the Fisher platform, iron 1-19. The Platinum has no manual ground balance, the LRP does. The expanded iron range of the Platinum helps if you hunt relics. Ground Grab on the Platinum only goes down to 40 soil. Wet beach is usually 5-25. The LRP can go to 0 ground balance in AM making it able to balance to wet salt soil. The P can't.

Hey fellow dectorists!! I have some questions about this detector. I've had mine for quite a while and I just can't wring out that enthusiasm that many other people have about this machine. My previous detector was/is a QuickDraw II. I've used it for years and love it. So far.... it out-performs the Land Ranger Pro.... But perhaps I'm not doing something right. I am not impressed with the depth capability of the LRP. My QD II does better. I find the LRP to be too chirpy and erratic... I've adjusted the ground balance in the applicable modes. I've reduced the sensitivity and increased the disc level....and still the response I'm getting is very iffy.... I'm still working with the machine, but I'm not able to find the 'Sweet' spot in average soils for this machine. A clad quarter at 6 inches is about the best i can get out of my machine. The biggest annoyance is the jumpiness of the target ID, even on a solid target. Help!!!!

I am a newbie and saving to buy here in Lethbridge Alberta. So at the beginning you show preset for america,may I set it for Canada?
@CarolinaCoinHunter7 жыл бұрын
Earl Lee It does measure in centimetres as well. One important thing to note, is that many newer Canadian coins are made of steel like the newer 25 cent piece. These will read as iron targets, so you'll want to look for the older coins. If you try to discriminate out the nails you'll lose those modern coins. You may already know this, but I thought I'd give you a heads up just in case. Happy Hunting!

Eastern Explorer which is the best setting in your opinion?
@EasternExplorer7 жыл бұрын
Its hard to say, it depends on what type of detecting you plan to do. Personally I'm a relic hunter so I run all metal 98% of the time and mostly dig everything. You dig a lot more trash but you don't miss things like musket parts, bayonets, swords and cannon balls.
