On the shelf 2015 same here. Right when I first was getting big into bourbon. I have missed out on it by 1 person 3 different times at stores just getting their trucks. So close yet so far! I thought it was too good to not include tho...not on this day!

Normally I'm not a big Blantons guy, but in this blind it definitely fared better than Elmer T Lee. And yes I think the single barrel Baker's bottle that I have is a fantastic barrel!

I actually love this 7 year bottle I have. I have tried the 1e year and it still had that bakers sweetness but much more oak. Of you appreciate higher aged bourbons you would like the 13 for sure!

I prefer Blantons over Elmer T Lee so I wasnt surprised with that part of this video. Bakers 7 though, wow, I'll need to pick one up!

I’m shocked! ETL is my favorite out of those, and my new Baker’s is one of my least favorite. Mine is only 7 years 9 months though so every bottle is different. Blind is best! You’re absolutely right.

That's crazy because Bakers 7 stood out in this lineup. Maybe the extra year made a big difference. I think my single barrel I have is excellent. Next battle of the bourbins we will have to do something small batch so consistency between bottles is better!

Results start at 13:00 - Interesting results. I have yet to see Evan Williams Single Barrel come out high in a blind tasting. When I did my own a while back even the Evan Williams BiB 100 came out ahead of the SB version even though it is half the price. I still have 3 unopened bottles of Henry McKenna 10 year SB, when you get to that one be sure to tell us what barrel number and bottling date you are sampling.

Ya EW single is solid stuff but couldnt stand up in this lineup. And I agree for about half the price EW BIB is as good or maybe even better. I know I have filmed round 4 already not sure if I included it. Either way I'll put it on the screen or show the bottle label

I really like the Jack Daniels. It's real good and available. Out of tasting #3, you will never find any Elmer T Lee and maybe a couple times I have seen Blantons. I can generally always find Evan Williams and Bakers. I forgot that last fall I ran across a bottle of Elmer T Lee for $298.99. Needless to say , I did not but it.

Baking spices....baking spices.....all these American bourbon reviewers bang on about baking spices....we don't have them here in Australia..what the hell are they?

Clove and allspice are the major 2 that come to mind when I call out that note. It is just a delicious blend of almost Christmas spices. Hard to describe but once you smell or try them you will know exactly what that note is in your whiskey!

It is something I have seen in recipes from American sites as well and it's just not something that is sold here...if you are in the spice section or the baking section of the supermarket you won't see a product called baking spices.....cloves, nutmeg and allspice are the common Xmas cake and pudding ingredients here! I only came to the realization this episode, but that extra shuffling before tasting doesn't make any sense since this video isn't live. If it can be edited to speed up, scenes can be edited out. I'm not accusing you of 'cheating' but found it amusing that there's shuffling in a pre-recorded video to foster the blind concept.

It's all just for effect lol. I realize it makes no sense but if I was going to cheat I would have done it a long time ago. Ya during a love makes much more sense, that or film a video with zero edits or overlays too!

You had me scared during the video saying that Evan Williams was going to be tough to not put top 2. Glad you changed that in your final deliberation. Not really a fan...falls super flat for me. Typical bourbon but nothing more.

Ya the flavor on this bottle was actually really nice. Defiently still couldnt complete with the rest tho. Agreed typical starter bourbon.
