Tip for anyone else. OC Woodmans keeps all the good stuff behind the counter. They used to hook you up more if you asked them but it seems they save their allocated stuff for raffles moreso now. They hate being asked about bourbon but they're very nice!

For me the Pipe Dream Cask Strength is a sure buy, so is the 1792 Full Proof. They had great prices too. I found a Ben Holladay One Barrel store pick in KC area last week. So good! I also got lucky and found a New Riff 8-year. Wish I could get a Russell’s 13. It’s been on my hunt list for quite awhile. Great hunt video!

The La Flamme I had at J. Henry distillery was great so I bought a bottle locally. For some reason it doesn't taste as good as what I tried at the distillery. Maybe the consistency isn't there with them yet. For us in Wisconsin, I'm still sticking with D.G. store picks as my state recommendation. Cheers! Thanks again for another fun video.

Ayra's Liquor had a G4 Extra Añejo on their regular shelf, next to the Bookers and Barrel Dovetail at 13:33. Tends to be an allocated tequila, almost like the Fortaleza offerings or higher proof Cazcanes releases. Wonder how reasonable their price was, just barely missed it on the video, unless it was also in their raffle. Almost impossible to find in the Dallas, TX area. Great video, seems like y'all have some pretty decent stores in the Milwaukee area!

@@WisconsinBourbonBros the Red Spot 15 is a fantastic. A fruit bomb but price is probably stupid. I got mine at $110 On the regular shelf: Writers Tears Copper Pot is fantastic Powers Three Swallows is good but Powers John’s Lane is fantastic and a 12 year age statement. Love the Knappogue Castle line. The 12, 14, 16 & 21 are great and all separate not a progression. Tullamore Dew 12 is one I would definitely buy if I were you. A great sub $50 12 year old. Really like the Tullamore 18. Didn’t see any Redbreast but those are always my first choice. Start with the 12 year old even though fellow bourbon drinkers will shout get the 12 yr cask strength. I would never deny someone the chance at their first Redbreast taste to not have the quintessential Irish pot still whiskey.

@@matthewdohrmann They are all single barrel and cask strength. My current batch is 116.4 proof. For me - good enough to be in my permanent rotation of 30 or so open bottles. I will still make the pilgrimage to Glenn's Creek for mine since I also enjoy their sweat (wheated version) and honey finish. I also have their premium version from the vault, but the price is now $150 so I don't have more than one at a time.

Ayra's is a mixed bag. They are definitely trying to befriend the whiskey crowd, but they have different things going at all their different locations that don't coordinate. They seen to change their loyalty/member programs every year which just causes mass confusion. Most recent iteration of points accumulation program was not better than secondary. Definitely seem to be yanking your chain for anything really hard to find.

We attended a raffle at their Racine location on Saturday. Overall a really tightly run operation, very hospitable. The owner made sure that everyone which attended had the opportunity to buy something “limited”. There were not a TON of highly desirables, BUT it did feature a JD2xBarrelled, RR13, Turkey Masters, JD10, Blanton Gold, Pen RIO etc

@@WisconsinBourbonBros It may just be my experience living in Racine, but they seemed to have one system in place, that got completely scrapped for a new system when the Oak Creek location went live. They also have a bad habit of having special limitations on bottles one day (e.g. the dragon's milk) one day, then a week later none when they learn they can't milk it. Don't know who is guiding things over there, have had really good experiences, and really poor experiences.

Border sucks, Driftless Glen needs to be aged in some heat to open up flavor and develop a nose. Peerless is too expensive for the quality and the Redwood offerings are top notch.
