Hi all, Michelle here! Oh boy did I make a mistake!! (This is why I shouldn't edit videos, friends!! 🤦‍♀) In Round 1, Trenton says he chooses glass B, but when I was editing, I accidentally swapped the names on the screen for Trenton's A and B glasses. Trenton DID pick B, but it should have said "Russell's Reserve 13 Year" on the screen and NOT "Old Forester Barrel Strength." 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Trenton's glass A was Old Forrester and his glass B was Russell's. I'm sorry for the confusion! Please be sure to check the bracket online for accurate results! I'm so sorry for any confusion! 🥺

Based on the video and what’s showing in the bracket online for Trenton, You might want to have Trenton’s round one corrected online. Even though it hurts my bracket just wanted to point it out.

I don't know if anyone else is having the same issue but I created a bracket a couple days ago for both brackets and both of them are gone. I even tried to pull up the brackets through my history and it says the URLs don't exist. Did I do something wrong or was the previous bracket closed and a new one reopened?

Even Trenton and Kurt remained confused by this, as they do not know whether they are drinking the same things, though they are replying to each others tasting notes like they can confirm or deny. And at the end of round 1, the comment of "a little different" just confirms the confusion. 🤣

Great 1st video! I love that they were tasting different, but some the same. Having each rank there own brackets is nice. Hopefully, there are upsets, and the winners didn't just pick chalk each time. However, if they did, probably not a bad strategy as the rankings were by Kurt and Trenton, so it does speak to their preferences going in. Excited to see how it plays out!

How do I check my selections? Filled out the brackets, saved the corresponding links that were created after to those selections. Now when I click on them it prompts me to sign in or create an account. Created an account but still don't see any of my selections. What am I doing wrong?

I'm in the same boat. When I follow the reference links now that I have an account it takes me to a page that says I don't have permission to access that page. I even went through both bracket lists and couldn't find my submission anywhere. Have you had any luck finding an answer yet?

I think next year you should have the same brackets, I think you could easily do it by ranking each bourbon, assigning points based on where they are ranked, and average it out to get real rankings, that way you really don’t even know what is going against what, and you can both give your tasting notes on the same pour, idk if I worded this right at all but I just enjoy when you both are trying the same pour After thinking further, this would only possibly work for round one, because then you’d likely have different answers for round 2 and on in the bracket, so maybe it wouldn’t work

I pulled this Sharpie research from our AI overlords . . . makes sense since bourbon has ethanol in it. I've also heard pros describe an acetone smell in bourbon which covers the ketone part in the description below. "The distinctive smell of a Sharpie marker comes from a special blend of chemicals in its ink. The main element contributing to the aroma is ethanol, a volatile solvent that evaporates quickly, releasing molecules into the air that we detect as a pungent smell. Sharpie markers also contain other Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), such as alcohols, ketones, and aromatic compounds, which contribute to the scent when the marker is opened. Maybe idea for next year is the brackets should be random. Take the 16 samples put them in sample bottles and randomly pick two and they are in a bracket together. That way it is a try blind and if you think you know what one is you don’t automatically know what the other is. Just an idea.
