This is impossible to find in the DMV. I had the Sagamore barrel strength Friday night, it was so tasty when and got a second bottle Saturday. Are those two that much better than Sagamore??

Very happy you finally scored a bottle. My brother was able to pick up a bottle for me in October. Hand delivered 2 nights ago (he is in Seattle and I am in the Sacramento area). Funny.. I drammed both Michter’s and OF like you last night. OF is definitely bolder. My single barrel had a strong banana taffy note… like the Now&Later candy. It’s delicious. Both are top shelf. Can’t wait to share it with my bourbon brothers. Thanks for your reviews.

I didn’t care for the old forester 100 proof rye. It had a dill note that I couldn’t shake and didn’t enjoy at all. It just didn’t fit in my flavor wheel house

I've had the Michter's Barrel Proof rye, and frankly was not that impressed. A bit too minty, and reminded me vaguely of some soap I got in my mouth as a kid. Michter's 10 year rye was much better (thanks @DrinkPro !). Old Forester Single Barrel Rye really does it for me. I think its the best bottle I've owned besides Old Carter American Batch 4.

As a rye, I find no rye in it. It's a bourbon with an afterthought of rye. For the same price, for a rye, I'd say the sagamore spirt 8 year is far superior.
