It has to do with how they rank them in tastings. If you win the first round you get a gold and advance. If you win the next round you get a double gold. It actually makes sense.

When you see people actually touting Bronzes they are not very good bottles. It's like a 50-60 score to get a bronze. Those are usually not good bottles but tastes differ from day to day. That's why gold & platinum are really touted because the bronze and silver bottles are just meh.

I think the whole idea behind the ASCOT's and no possibility of a bias is the key. I tasted through them by category all in random order. My reveal was pretty surprising when I found out. But all on all its a great way to see the value in what you taste. Cheers fellas

@@FriarPop Can't suck too bad if the Bourbon Junkies placed it 4th in this lineup. Plenty of other reviewers seem to like it for what it is. Don't know about too many other 120 proof Bourbons for less than $30. OGD 114 is probably the closest, and I'm more of a fan of the BT profile than Beam. But would love the chance to find out for myself since $25 isn't going to break the bank and possibly be a pretty mixer.
