Sorry but don't agree with Mark's analysis. Bournemouth had more energy they passed the ball much quicker than us and we gave them far too much space. They didn't have any more quality than us, but we had no fight or determination to get back into the game. From what I observed, we couldn't string any passing together and we lost our defensive capability.

Looking at the last three games,Forest seem to be running out of legs by 70mins, today we looked a yard short of pace at the start of the game and two yards short at the end of the game,worrying as we don’t have the substitutes to bring on or give any of our best eleven a rest apart from Marato . Forget spending 60mill on the likes of Cuna and get a greater depth of squad.

We have won 1, drawn 3 and lost 4 against top teams but beaten all of the bottom half just about. That shows where we are. Another reality is that we don’t have the strength in depth that some supporters think we have. We had poor halves against Liverpool and Southampton and were a bit dodgy at times at Wolves. Our luck ran out yesterday. But that is PL football and let’s hope we learn from this one.

Yes, however... We still have to host Brighton, arsenal, city, Chelsea - & only played Liverpool at our place recently. I really don't think this was a bad event for us. @@snads8415 I agree. We looking tired 20 minutes of last couple of games and we looked tired 20 minutes into this one. The system we have played works but it is dependant on high energy and if its no there we will get swamped and hammered. It is also a wake up call about squad depth which I am sure most of us before the game thought was decent. Imagine we do get over the line this year and into Europe, can we cope with all those games playing this way? Still its one off day so lets see how we do against Brighton before we lose the plot. @ForestFan74 It's easier to recover and bounce back when it's a performance where the odd player had a shocker. Against Bournemouth almost all of them were abysmal. Two subs who weren't even on the pitch getting booked too is really bizarre when we have been quite well disaplined. I just hope that as a group, they reflect on that game and never do that again.

I expected three central defenders against Bournemouth to counter their early goal press strategy. Jota has no pace. He's not right for the Forest's fast counterattack approach. It should have been Elanga right and Sosa left. I might have dropped Wood or MGW to the bench and played Yates, Anderson, and Dominguez as a blocking three in the middle, or double fullbacks. Or, we really needed Sangare in front of M&M yesterday. Overall not a smart team selection to play Bournemouth away. We learn more when we fail than when we succeed. We learned a lot yesterday. Jota can leave. As can Sosa if he's not going to be a direct replacement for an absent CHO. P.S. Giving Wood a guaranteed two year contract is a mistake. It should have been 1+1. Second year as a club option but also as the player's 'option', which he Wood would have triggered by scoring +15 goals in year one. It's all about motivation. Forest now have him playing for another two seasons with no incentivisation built in when he'll be 34 and then 35 years old. Feels too generous. Forget Cunha at +£60 million. Forest need a great central midfield player who can set the tempo and hold the ball to retain possession and at least one (probably two) excellent winger.

If I was wood I would have definitely wanted two years and he fully deserves that. He seems too much of a professional to down tools he will work hard if the chips are down .

14:40 this is exactly what happens when players haven’t had much game time together. I sait it before we’re not good with the ball and we haven’t made players link up well with each other. I also said Matz Sels actually made a difference kicking the ball higher up the pitch when he leaned he is a goalkeeper in a team with players not finding each other in passing when pressed. Any team that press us will be a difficult task for us when we haven’t gotten good passing regime and doesn’t use players that have linked up with each other. No transfer market will fix teamwork when having possession. We have been doing much better teamwork defensively. J. Silva hasn’t worked much with Aina tho’

The last couple of games have shown me that our bench isn’t good enough to sustain a top 5 finish. Our starting 11 is but our bench isn’t. Everyone was poor today but Jota was so frustrating, our team is based on keeping shape and being defensively resolute, but he just dives in at every opportunity!! Sosa looks much more of an exciting prospect than he does. Also, any ideas why Danilo isn’t even getting a place on the bench? I know he sustained a very serious injury but he could be a big player for us in the last few months!
@Forest-Focus17 сағат бұрын
Let's see if Danilo starts in the FA Cup tie. I don't expect him to play in Premier League games until after then as you've got to be so careful with these injuries.

@ agreed but would like to see him at least have a place on the bench, with so few attacking options to bring on, he could be so vital going forward. Southampton was probably a good time to try and ease him back into prem football, even for just 10 mins. Now it seems the opportunity has been and gone with the difficult fixtures to come

Concerned what this will do to morale with such a tough run of games coming up. Lewis is right. Our squad doesn't allow for an effective plan B. Be surprised if we can do the work in this window to upgrade the bench as much as needed. Jota, Sosa and post-injury Taiwo might have been ok when we were struggling, but they're clearly not top 5 talent, which is what we need to seriously compete for those places.

Like any overachieving side, especially a 'one dimensional' low-block and counterattacking one, it's going to end spectacularly at some point. Bournemouth have been pretty excellent all season but at the moment they are just an unstoppable force despite having ONE senior outfield player on their bench. It's just an outlier form Bournemouth are in at the moment, a freak situation.

What’s embarrasing is most of the meltdown comments. It was one of them days that everything went in for them and they were the better team on the day. All the doom being thrown about after 1 loss in 7 weeks is truly pathetic. Let the management deal with the result and how to get back on track, and we as supporters focus on the big picture of only 5 defeats since August 2024 and being 3rd in the league at the end of January. Get a Grip. Grow Up. What’s next? Booing the team?

They press high and when they lose the ball, they foul you and stop the break. Also the one of the centre backs carried the ball into midfield, giving them the extra man every time. Nuno needs to take some responsibility, he never plays Sosa jota or Tiawo and this means their well off form when we need them most. We’ve played the same team week after week and now it’s starting to show. Also, Ryan Yates can’t play against teams that press, it was a mistake in my opinion bringing him for this game.
