Youth Zach enjoys and should. Started bowhunting at age 35. Killed a buck 1.5 miles into public piece. Hunting alone i halved him which meant 6 miles had I not become disoriented on cloudy nights before cell phones. Point is I was no worse for logging those miles. Today on the same piece 37 years later I only go about 3/4 mile deep and take my cart in first trip and chugg Tylenol because everything hurts when you turn 70. Love these guys.

The only characteristic that can be accurately used in the field to identify a hybrid deer is the metatarsal gland, which is located on the lower portion of the rear legs. The metatarsal glands on a mule deer are 4 to 6 inches long and sit high lower leg, and always surrounded by dark brown fur. And yes that's a hybrid make sure with the local warden that it's legal to tag it as whitetail
