How many joules is 700 FPS and could it be used for self-defense?
@XRinger2 жыл бұрын
It's only about 15 to 20 fpe. Not enough for self-defense. A .22 cal Long Rifle bullet is up around 125 fpe. The 380 ACP vary from 190 to 290 fpe. The .380 is okay for self-defense. If you can't get a 9mm.. :)

Haha, I like how you carefully set your pump up on the picnic table to keep it off the grass and clean while pumping up the prod I assume, and in the very next scene its laying over in the grass getting stepped on lol

I like that pump! My old pump takes a LOT of effort, and the right technique to get up around 3,000 psi.. I have to stand over it and drop my weight on it. I wonder if it's too late to put a new pump on my wish list? :)
@616Haggard8 жыл бұрын
Forget a pump! If it's a wish list, might as well wish for a Shoebox compressor. I got mine about 2 years ago.. still running strong. Never looked back.

You are about two years too late.. I've been using a new Hill Pump and it's built like a tank.. Not as easy to get up to 3,000 PSI as my old pump, but it's faster.. Sadly, I'm not any faster. I'm now 70 years old and wishing that I had put a Shoebox on my wish list. :) I put a 3.5" shroud extension on my PRod, for safety reasons. I do not like super short barrels on a carbine. It's too easy to get a finger out front when your eye is on the scope.. I've got an amazing 2MOA reddot sight installed all the way back.. The Holosun HS403G. images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61cLgr-mbNL._SL256_.jpg It's an amazingly good setup, when using H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 grain pellets..

70! And still pumping? Good grief. I also owned a prod with the same extension, if the one you bought was from MarmotMilitia. Not that the Prod is loud by any stretch of the imagination, but that extension definitely quiets it down. Mine liked Beeman Field Target Special* pellets. Although, it also shot the Predator Polymags surprisingly well under 30 yards. I ended up selling the Prod, and getting an Airmax pcp pistol. It's only single shot, but it's regulated. I get about 35 shots with 16gr JSB pellets going 575fps. I have a cheap-o red dot on it, and can hit a pop can at 25 yards no problem. Accurate little sucker. Check it out if you'd like. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can see the price. I bet it surprises you, like it did me. And it isn't sub-par China junk. It's made by the same company that makes those P-12 bullpups, if you've ever heard of those. mrodair.com/mrodair_airmax_precision_match_pcp_pistol_with_externally_adjustable_regulator

I just checked, the last adjustment I made, I was getting full power (18 fpe) with 2 mags. The power drops off on the 3rd mag, but it still shoots well inside 30 yards.. (95% of my shots are taken under 30 yards).. My crazy 2MOA red dot gives me really small groups at 30 yds. Of course a scope is better, but this rig is SO lightweight! I'll never go back to using a big heavy scope on the PRod.. Yeah, MarmotMilitia was the shroud guy.. That Air Max Precision Pistol looks like it would be great for indoor matches (in .177). I don't shoot competition anymore, but if I wanted to get back into it, this looks like something that would be great with my 2MOA reddot.. IF, the trigger is good enough.. That P-12 looks interesting.. But my long range .22 is the Hatsan AT44-10 QE and it's great to be shooting a repeating rifle at last! Plus, it's putting out 30 fpe! :) What I don't like is the weight... Wish it was a bullpup.. and lighter..

Joyce Rodgers Nope lit Sis, but it shoots 'soft' lead pellets.. But not too soft. They can still de-brain a squirrel.. :) My new Prod came in the mail yesterday and it's no bad. I was looking for a light weight carbine style airgun, and this thing is almost too light.

*I love this rifle>>**ur2.pl/944** but seal came out when I took out clip a seal was with it as I removed the clip then I placed a clip to shoot and when shot it was loud as if it was not shrouded any more but it is a great pellet run great power*

Could you fill it up with air compressor?

Seriously? Where would you find a 3000 psi air compressor?
@naturestrail22965 жыл бұрын
They do make special compressors for filling them but they're expensive.

That looks like a nice little piece of kit, but after years of experimentation, I've settled on my Ruger Mark II .22 pistol with a 7+ inch barrel and Aquila .22 Super Colibri primer-powered rounds for "silent" woods-walkin' work.
@t76d777f6d9 жыл бұрын
+eqlzr2 Does it cycle? Does the magazine hold the rounds? :)
@eqlzr29 жыл бұрын
It cycles manually, which is fine with me, and yes on question 2.

Shoot some of that ammo out of a long barrelled rifle and you will be amazed how silent that a .22 RF can be... :)

For self defense only I agree but for shooting small game, to actually hit a quarter sized target, or to have any fun shooting targets in even a small town no way I agree. These guns have custom nice 2 stage triggers factory. When you consider features they're not a bad price really but all depends on what you need. For me I need one of each.

mario rey i have a crosman 2240, for 50$. Took it apart did some drilling to bring up fps, its about 100fps slower then this gun and ive tooken large so cal jackrabbit, crows and cottontail with it. Get out there and shoot.. quit talking
@naturestrail22965 жыл бұрын
@@ayobubby3690 possible yes but not ideal. I've taken rabbits with a $40 pump crossman when I was a kid. Did it work? Yea. Would I buy a $40 pump to hunt rabbits with? No way. With a perfect shot almost anything can do it. The benefit with these pcp is the ability to get that perfect shot. But without that perfect shot I wouldn't recommend any .22 cal pellet gun except maybe a sumatra or condor or equivalent. Even those are about 3/4 the strength of a 22LR when bullet grain and fps and all are accounted for.
@dingfeldersmurfalot45604 жыл бұрын
Thing is, there are plenty of videos of people killing rabbits with 22 pellets, so you ca see for yourself. Heavier pellets make a big difference. Shot placement is important. And also, some .22's are much more powerful than others. This gun can be modified to deliver a lot more power, but it has enough power as is to kill cottontails and even some jackrabbits. Importantly, it has the accuracy too.
