One of the best and most rewarding things about hunting Coues deer is how hard it can be to hunt them. Success = LOTS of time glassing in the field + a fair amount of luck. Next year, Randy.

Randy Newberg, Hunter I’m of your vintage, Tucson native and Coues hunter since the age of 14, took some forkies now and then, but it wasn’t until my 40s that I learned to stop tromping around like a jack rabbit all day, and to glass and find a bedded deer. I now am lucky to have several nice Coues bucks adorning my garage, and my goal now is helping my 15 year old son and my niece take their first. They’re truly ghosts of the Southwest. Keep up the good work overall, and maybe try badmouthing Southern AZ a little - it used to be a local secret treasure.

Hey Randy we love watching your show Fresh Tracks. Thanks for keeping your show real and showing the folks it's not all about harvesting an animal. Yall never use hand radio's and do alot of glass and stalk on your video's. Thanks for the great footage and showing all what great hunter's yall are. 👍..

I'm an Az resident, a few years ago, I was drawn for northern Az near Flagstaff, high country. My tag was any antlered deer, on the 3rd or 4th day of my hunt, just after lunch, we came across a coues buck right by the highway. We followed him into the timber, this is where I was kicking myself because this was a rifle hunt but I was within bow range & didn’t feel right using a rifle. I still got him but i just wish it was archery. I was drawn for the same unit, same tag this year, so I'll be out there again next month.
