Thanks for sharing this one Billy. It looked very nice until the final separation. Such a shame. But the lesson for all of us is this, “When we have a failure, toss it aside and grab another chunk of wood. It, unlike money, grows on trees!” Great job!

The first one I did exploded like that. It has been over a year ago, and I still haven’t found one piece. Thinking I was turning a little too fast. Did a second one a couple months later but much larger than the first one. Every thing went well but, by the time I finished sanding it one area was paper thin. Made a great salad bowl. Mama loves it. Thanks for sharing 😊.

I've had two of these break. Both times my fault for getting it too thin, or turning too fast. I also made a big one that my wife claimed as a salad bowl. Thank you for watching!

Next time Billy! The width of the rings are directly related to the thickness of the board, They can be done with thinner stock but I consider 3/4 a minimum in most cases. By the way I have a BFB coming out this morning. Gary

Yes, sir. I knew it was going to be iffy when I lived the rings up for gluing. But my only investment was a little glue and time, so it was worth the try.
