Lately, I've noticed a lot of tilt on my ball. The track has been super low and it hasn't been reading the lane early enough. After seeing this video I spent two hours in practice yesterday working on the position of my elbow and the amount of forward lean I have in my delivery. It's already made a big difference. Thanks for posting this tip!

I always come back to your videos, between you and some of the guys at league have helped me understand. I was on top of the ball with no rotation with a little tilt, my ball would be, end over end forward rolling, north pole, south pole rolling, it drove me nuts. I'm finally getting there and can tell by my oil track and my ball motion. Thank you for all you do you are appreciated

Same here. This is one of the best views of how the hand position is supposed to be. Index finger pointed at the floor, knuckles of the Middle and Ring finger towards the floor as well. I don't think I consciously turn the my hand at the end, though I suspect that is happening naturally. The difference in my ball roll when I do this right is phenomenal. The more I keep my elbow in, which keeps the ball nearer my ankle at release, the WIDER and LONGER the ball travels at the breakpoint, then has a more pronounced break combined with a more forward roll than sideways roll. Yesterday, game 6 of a doubles/singles event, I pulled out my Radical Xeno solid. Lined up on 30, aiming 12, break around 5. Twice got it out to 3, had the strangest hold there, it looked like it would straightened up for 2-3 ft before darting to the pocket. The normal BP just turned at the BP. Shot a 276, 3rd best game of my life. Shot a 277 Friday night maintaining the same elbow positioning with a Brunswick Edge solid. My problem is, I don't have this motion as muscle memory after 40ish years of other ways starting with full roller. I've been working with a coach since March, and what JR is showing here is the 3rd thing he taught me, after correcting my timing and footwork. It feels weird, yet the results speak for themselves when you see the ball roll. So for those of you without 40 yrs of baggage, hopefully your muscle memory takes less time to lock in :)

Put a hand towel or beanie between your body and elbow or inside of arm when you are in your stance and do your 4 or 5 step which ever it will fall out once you get to your swing but it will help. I saw Danielle McKuin doing it and I tried. I haven't tried it at the foul line yet to see what it helps with there.

Hello, so when I keep my elbow in tight I am unable to get my ball further down the lane to keep it from going left of the headpin.🤔any ideas?? I am currently throwing a Hammer black widow pearl. Thx Kelly

It appears that your wrist is cupped, which allows your hand/fingers to be under the equator of the ball. During the release motion, do you rotate your wrist then uncupp? Would be help to see the uncupping of the wrist in slow motion. I'm thinking, at the bottom of the swing on the way up, the uncupping motion is basically as the heel the wrist goes forward, the weight of the ball transfer from the heel of the palm to the fingers.

Push your pointer finger press it into the ball push it that helped me. Also, practice the no-step drill just holding the ball at home and get into your finish position and work on holding the ball before its released. I dod this at home my wrist was weak and it helped. I am 104 pounds and use a 15lb now. But I've been using 16lb now at home to just help build my hand and arm and so on. Just thought I'd share. It's taken me forever to understand but I'm getting there. You will get it and you will think duh, it wasn't even that hard.

@TrandafirRuby2 жыл бұрын
It's similar, but we are even further below the equator since we don't have the restriction of the thumb. Can get the hand as inside as you comfortably can and still have forward roll.

Because you’re not trying to hook the ball when throwing straight therefore you won’t try to “help” it hook
