Very nice little centre. And, even though we can only see 2 of the machines cycling it's nice to see Brunswick pinsetters that don't have 'sagging' deck shields...usually caused by the front bolt being broken or missing (or the front 'slot' in the shield being excessively worn and the bolt is loose). I always tried to look after the deck shields (along with everything else, of course) in all the Brunswick centres I worked at during my 30 years as a mechanic.

These machines will last forever. The Brunswick A2 before T track deck (pin table) lowering link was the best (these machines). The rake & deck are so well adjusted. The shaker board- well its ok. These machines beat anything new on the market today. The only electronics is the time delay module that delays the gearbox engagement when the rake drops on the first ball cycle. Keeps the deck from coming down too soon. This place looks great. May it remain open for many years to come.

I am with ya. Def look like refurbs to me, 62k serial numbers are right in that iffyish kinda zone. I had some 63k ones at a home I serviced with scotch yokes, assumed these would too. Structure of it tho is a big giveaway, you nailed it. A HUGE backend and headroom above like there is? Def a newer build, old school buildings had NO room in the back. My last center only did since it was an auto garage prior and had lifts and such. Good eye tho, the 63k's were refurbs as well, looked basically identical. No complaints tho if taken care of they'll run forever especially after a refurbish (if thatis the case, can only assume it is)

so they are model As converted to A2. wow wish i had all the extra room behind the machines.Not a big fan of the white video screens in front of the masking units but to each his own. Did you know the cost of string pin machines is $25.000 each.

No idea, that's why I thought they were unusual. People have been saying that it's possible AMF ran out of the white rings while manufacturing these.

These are jetback machines. Jetback has the ball tire to return the ball rather than the long belt.

@@PinDominator I agree with @dingusrl6575. He may have called them A-2's, but they are running at Jet Back Speed and yes the ball accelerator is the Jetback tire not the belt usually found on an A-2.

These are A2 machines. No need to use A2 full speed on the pinsetters. Changing the size of the belt drive pulleys on the main pinsetter motor changes how fast the machine operates. Jetback speed is ideal. Not too fast or too slow. The higher speed tears them up. Rough on the pins and breaks rake (sweep) arms. No need for the high speed ball accelerator. Waste of maintenance cost to keep them running. You also have wasted cost on the retarder at the ball lift at the ball rack. Don’t need it if using just a kicker wheel. This place is the ideal set up.
