Also heavily predicated on stereotypes. As a person from a country that gave up their guns, never give up your guns. It takes about 20 years, but you eventually get a police state. And not a heavy handed cop situation like the Us has. Your courts still are independent. I’m talking where the police state becomes the law of the land. I don’t fear terrorists. Literally happened to multiple people here. In my state we have a lot of knife crime. The penalty for carrying a knife can now be 10 years in prison. And god forbid you use a knife to defend yourself. If you’re attacked and use a knife in self defence you can go to prison for years. More years than your assailant may be up for. If you're right about something you should be able to take the other side's best argument and still explain how it's wrong. This cartoon simplifies the pro-gun position so much that it misrepresents it. We don't need to misrepresent their motivations and opinions to prove they're wrong. This is actually not true. The first European colony in what now constitutes the USA, was not English, but the Spanish colony of La Florída established 1513, so 93 years before the first English colony, when The Colony of Virginia, was chartered in 1606 and settled in 1607, (I don't use the word British because Britton means Wales in Cymru, but that's a separate subject). And the first city founded by Europeans on land that now makes up the USA, was by the Spanish, namely San Agustín, which, to date, is the oldest European city/establishment in the USA. Furthermore, the first person of white European descent born within borders that now represents the country of the USA, which is also a concept that marks the establishment of a European colony in the New World, especially in the historiography of the United States, was also of Spanish heritage, and not English. It was Martín de Argüelles, born 1566 in San Agustín, La Florída, which is 21 years before Virginia Dare, who was the first person of English ancestry born in Roanoke Colony, present-day state of North Carolina, USA.

Moore is showing that Americans are driven by fear and solve problems by shooting everyone, as if that will make therm less fearful. First the Native Americans, then the blacks, now each other. @@yoholup19 Not really. It’s oversimplified elementary school tier stuff. If the primary motivation behind gun ownership and gun rights was racism, specifically white on black racism, then why did Ronald Reagan pass the Milford act in response to black panthers arming themselves? And the idea that Europeans went over and kidnapped millions of Africans into slavery is ignorant, they were sold into slavery after being captured in African wars. And the idea that pilgrims just went and killed “peaceful injuns” plays right into that problematic “noble savage” archetype that is not only wrong, but also diminishes native culture. So yeah, nearly everything here is a gross exaggeration at best, and an outright lie at worst.
