I think a better timeline is: Stacy's Mom (cover) Girl All the Bad Guys Want Almost High School Never Ends 1985 Getting Old Sucks I bet we could make an entire narrative story out of their music of a boy and girl growing up in proximity, not getting together, and hating their lives as adults

Proof that not everything old is a classic. A category I fall into. I find it hilarious when people are listening to covers and either not realising it is a cover or remembering a previous cover when I am remembering the original. One recent incident was seeing White Wedding being covered by MurderDolls. Someone declared it wasn't a Billy Idol track because he didn't write it, not considering most bands don't write their stuff. I liked the original version but my tastes have gotten a lot heavier with age so the cover is more me now. Aparently we are supposed to mellow with age. I have to be the oddball who gets more messed up as I age. The good news is people seem more OK with angry old man than angry youngster. Though I do get accused of trying to be down with the kids for listening to newer tunes on occasions. The irony that I wasn't down with the kids as a kid let alone at nearly 50 years old is not lost on me.

It's because culture moves by really quickly nowadays, and it's guided more by zoomers than millennials at this point. Plus, we're in a shitty time that makes us think more fondly back on the time when it was 2006, we weren't facing our second big recession in the span of a decade, and God wasn't winning a game of Plague Inc against us.

I really hope the band sees this comment (although I doubt they will) but god damn I fucking love this band. Its by far my favorite band, and It’s the only one I’ve ever wanted to go see in concert. I started listening when I was starting in highschool in 2014, and I’m still an avid fan coming up on my 21st birthday. It’s the only band that can cheer me up when I’m at my worst time (especially the song I’m Gay as I grew more comfortable with my gender and sexuality). I know 20 seems young to a lot of people but I’ve been really worried lately that I’m not doing as good as some people my age. With all the bat shit crazy stuff happening in the world, it makes me feel like I’m failing. Again, I know I’m young, but ‘Getting Old Sucks’ is something I can relate to a bit. Thank you guys, sincerely, for making another song that makes me feel good, inspires me, and fucking SLAPS. Now... off to working on the 10,000 essays I have due for finals. Cheers!

Dude don't compare your life with other people. It's pointless. Instead just be the best version of you that you can be. Work hard to achieve your goals and to ultimately do what makes you happy. That is what matters. Everyone has their own path with highs and lows. Just try to make yours the best it can be. Good luck. I believe in you. And I bet I'm not the only one that does. 🙂
