@@GUITARISTxxxx maybe, but at least we lived in an era where people wrote their own music and actually performed and played the instruments themselves, unlike more music these days that are completely written, produced, and orchestrated digitally and then they pick a face that can't sing and digitally alter their voice so it sounds like they can perform. Everything today is just commercially made and promoted. Music used to become a hit because someone heard the song and through word of mouth it became popular. People calling into radio stations to request the song.

I imagine the re-licensing of the music would've already been discussed so it's not much of a stretch to suggest it was a sneaky way to build nostalgia for the franchise making the unveil hit harder. And tbh that's a fucking genius marketing move.

@andrewmclaren272
@andrewmclaren272 Жыл бұрын
@@jorgerojas4388 a form of music which came out of Jamaica in the late 1950s It became incredibly popular in the 1970s in the United Kingdom with the term “two tone” and giving birth to such groups as “The Specials” who were a band of multiple ethnicities all living in the Coventry Area of the Midlands. Ska is sighted also as being the music that was at the forefront of bridging ethnic segregations which ran rife at the time, enthusing Punk, Reggae, and Rock N Roll into a form of music which to this day is enjoyed by millions. In the 90s Ska went through a form of resurrection with Pop Punk groups picking up aspects of the genre. Now in 2023 Ska sits in a deserved place of reverence as one of musics most enduring genre’s and is once again making a comeback, with social media influencers and a host of ska/punk groups, particularly from the US and Japan making waves on the scene

Yeah, I'm really not sure I know I'm running circles but I can't quit And I'm so confused about what to do Sometimes I wanna throw it all away Controlling everything in sight Feeling weak, I don't feel right You're telling me I have to change Telling me to act my age What if all that I can do Is just sit and watch time go Then I'll have to say goodbye Life's too short to watch it fly To watch it fly So here I am Growing older all the time Looking older all the time Feeling younger in my mind So here I am Doing everything I can Holding on to what I am Pretending I'm a superman Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

@Master Shake as someone who would happily be a millennial if I could have chosen my own birthdate, started doing tour production (guitar/bass tech, then production management, then tour management/tour accounting) during the third wave ska era (which resulted in me seeing *way* too many ska/ska punk bands with dumb puns using "ska" in their names) and still work in the same field, i just have to respond with "whaaaa?" - most ska isn't my thing (the artists I'm about to list are exceptions), but if you think... for example, Desmond Dekker sounds like the Specials, and both sound like Operation Ivy... you may need a hearing exam. 😃

I swear, the first time Feldmann sings "looking older all the time", he gestures or grabs his hair and makes a terrific face regarding the passage of time. It hit me as a low key iconic moment. But, now, it's been edited out with Charlie greeting his sweet dog instead. Wish we could have both on the screen, at the very least. Anyways, This video, your energy and passion searing through, was one of the very few actually bright and uplifting spots during lockdown. Thank you, guys.

It better be! They've been playing this song for the last 20 years. But also it's mixed so what really happened is quarantine gave them the chance to record and publish another studio version of their songs and they took it. This is a great performance but it's not necessarily live.
