I'm a senior who doesn't generate a lot of revs and I love urethane balls. Without doubt, this is a favorite video displaying the roll of all three balls, delivered the same won different oil patterns providing a clearer picture of how each ball reacts on each lane. The verbal descriptions and explanations of each ball are extremely helpful.

I use(d) my Fast Pitch on house shot in league just to start for first 6-7 frames just to break down the track some, or later if I couldn't find a motion I liked from reactive; could always get right and throw it hard and get decent results. I say used, because I got a UC3 for Christmas and threw it in league tonight for the first time. Only problem I can see with it is that it made me question why I bother having other balls in my bag. Thing is just amazing. I kept waiting for the lanes to break down, everyone else changed balls and moved around, UC3 just kept blending it out and hitting amazingly. Don't think I'll be throwing anything else for strikes for some time, unless I just want the pure fun that is UC2 (because who doesn't love getting as far left as you can, throwing hard, and watching that thing turn the corner like a Formula 1 racecar?).

I have been using a DV8 Tactic Control in my league due to the lanes getting cliffed extremely fast (not even 1 game) so I can keep my control and predictability. But I did just drill a short pin Raw Solid to give hopefully me an option with similar shape and control but have a little more miss room.

Hello. Highschool assistant bowling coach here. my old ball is a blue hammer, but i'm about to drill my UC#]3. looking forward to that. relatively speaking, i'm lower rev, medium ball speed, though using basically a spare ball means i'm not fully sure on my revs. UC3 should help make that clearer. however, we have a weird one on our team this year. 2 handed lefty with about an 8 mph ball speed and throwing a plastic ball. We've been going for a while and i'm still not really sure what to make of it. amusing all the same. if only he wasn't so frown-y.

I use my Storm Natural on house shots. I use it in place of a plastic ball for shooting spares because the urethane is much more useful in different situations. Shoot corner pins or spares i want to throw straighter at, or on burned out or spotty lane conditions.

Threw my UC3 in league for the first time last week for a 220. I had it drilled less aggressive with the pin down and this gives me a lot of versatility with a ball that I feel is already fairly flexible. You can play any part of the lane and it carries a tremendous amount of energy into the pins.

I bowl with guys that use Urethane on a house shot. I tend to be able to stay on top of them with a Hy-Road X. Once I lose the pocket with that, I tend to bring out the Bloodmoon Rising just due to the oil moving down the lane. I do use a Urethane-ish ball, in the Global 900 Badger Infused, but I don't usually bring it out, unless there's no other urethane out on the pair. Basically, when everyone else is using strong reactive balls and the entire line is burnt up. :)

The UC3 and the Wolverine were released at the same time and were created for the same purpose, to close gaps. The gap between a urethane ball and a reactive ball is huge and the UC3 fits right in between them both. The Wolverine closes the gap between a weak reactive ball like a hyroad pearl and something stronger like a zen master.

Every week at league, yes. Our THS is very light oil, and short, so every reactive I have pushes me up against the ball return during game 1. UC3 looks great for me on house shots, especially with the free bump from the dry outsides.

Urethane is the worst possible option for light oil house shots. Probably one of the most misunderstood things in bowling. That and people thinking pin down is earlier and smoother, when it is actually later and smoother. Can make urethane work but reactive drilled weaker/pin down will always carry better. It's physics so not really an argument. That being said, I could probably score all day with the UC3 on house shot. Still not the *BEST* option.
@Jackal_Blitz
@Jackal_Blitz 2 жыл бұрын
@@donkeydiehard879 You're really over-generalizing here. Just because something isn't "the best" option for a condition doesn't mean it can't work for some people. Where I bowl, my Pitch Black looks like Jimoo's UC3 in this video, and my UC3 has me playing between 3-4 arrow at a bare minimum. I've tried weak reactives, I've tried shiny reactives, I've tried short pin layouts. They all hook too much for me. Urethane works for *me* where I bowl. If you want to stay stuck in some archaic mindset about what balls can be used where and when, go for it.

It comes down to which one is best for you. No one throws the same way. You might miss your mark just the little bit or maybe the speed is a little different. Also, I don't like 2-handed bowling. They need to get their own league. I just got a purple hammer. I like the feel and I went to a 14 pound ball. Reactive balls I couldn't control. Being 76 years old I have lost my feet speed.

People can do it all they want. It's their carry that suffers.🤷 Reactive is ALWAYS the *BEST* option on THS. If someone is using urethane I just assume their PSO doesn't know how to drill properly. Usually the people who complain about leaving 10 pins 5 times a game and blame the pins/rack/pattern. Really not that hard to play around the carry down. Honestly, I'll take all the free hold I can get on THS. Helps me and hurts them so I love seeing urethane on the rack. UC3 is the exception. Has nearly zero urethane characteristics on THS.

@@Jesusfanatic0711 I’ve thrown it myself as well. It needs a lot of oil i will agree with you there, Which is what a asym urethane should be. The UC3 doesn’t do that. VIDEO REVIEW/CRITIQUE: Greetings from a bowling newbie. This is a long review, I know. I apologize up front, but I'm frustrated so it's important to me to express some thoughts. I used to bowl a lot in leagues when I was a kid, but have been out of it for many years now. I'm looking to dip back into it, but first I need to get a new ball. House balls serve the purpose and you can still learn and develop some skill from them if you play enough, but it's hard to progress and obtain any consistency from using them...especially if you want to learn to hook. So my first point of order is to find out what's out there. Unfortunately, way too much. Too many ball lines, designs, types, specs and brands to consider. That said, I have to rely on reviews from advanced bowlers like you guys and even from casual bowlers who also bowl a lot and have thrown lots of different balls of various types. Some of their input is even more valuable because many of them were in my position not long ago. But I try to look to and listen to everyone. That brings me to here....watching bowling ball review videos. As if all I've read wasn't overwhelming enough, the videos I have watched so far (not just yours) make me want to just buy a ball that I think has the nicest colors or looks the coolest. Anymore confusion and I might just abort getting back into bowling all together. Kidding, but still. Anyway, although I'm a way below average bowler (at the moment), I find myself to be of above average intelligence with an eye for details and a thirst for learning. Your video, unfortunately, did nothing to help me in my search for a new ball. Other videos I've watch haven't helped much either. All the videos I've watched have left me further behind in my search rather than a step ahead with finding the right ball for my needs. Most of the videos I've watched have left me with more questions coming out than I had going in because of the over the top technical lingo and language content. I'm sure it's without intention, but your commentaries are like a whole other language. Even if you didn't short hand your commentary by omitting acronyms and abbreviated words (ie: asym for asymmetrical etc), I would have a difficult time understanding what the hell you're talking about without going to some bowling college if it existed. When you rapid-fired one term and reference after another, I didn't have time to even process the stuff that I could decipher. You may as well have spoken in German. Are these videos intended for seasoned and advanced bowlers like yourself? Clearly you guys know what you're doing and what you're talking about. I'm assuming that you're probably all professional bowlers, but if you're not I'd like to know what it takes to be a pro. I've watched plenty of PBA in my time and you guys all look to throw strikes every bit as good or better than those I have watched. But regardless, most of your viewers probably are not such an advanced level. At least I wouldn't think, IDK. I understand you can't necessarily expound upon everything without videos turning into 5-hour clinics. But if you can at least start by maybe not short-handing your language with abbreviated words, acronyms and all kinds of bowling jargon. Just dumb things down a little bit for us newbies. I know I would be grateful and I'm probably not alone. I'm sure there are plenty of videos out there that could explain what the hell it is you're talking about in your reviews. But all I wanted, was laymen thoughts on bowling balls and who they would be suited for. I don't even necessarily need to see you use the balls. It's nice to watch the different ball reaction from one to the next, but bowler's styles differ from one another so that's something I don't necessarily need to see. I would rather it be explained instead...maybe via diagrams on a whiteboard. Also, may I suggest briefly going over price points with the balls you're reviewing. With so many balls out there, I need a couple days just to pull up the pricing on all of them to see what balls are in my price range. If you're reviewing balls that cost $150, $200, $250 on up, I don't even need to watch that video because I'm not about to spend that much on a ball just starting out. Another suggestion, maybe add at the beginning of your ball review videos more details on ball types without getting too deep into things like different types of cores, measurements, and other stuff that might be TMI for a typical bowler. Simplify things by giving just the meat and potatoes of what I need to know when it comes to the construction of the ball. For instance like: "there are...(1? 2? 3??) types of urethane balls." and, "Urethane balls are best suited for...(what) type of surface whereas resin balls are suited for this type of surface." "In general, lanes that are dry usually require a... coverstock. Light to medium oil Lanes often require a... coverstock whereas heavily oiled lanes usually need a... coverstock." I guess what I'm saying is, what is the most important thing(s) on the ball to consider when buying? Is it the coverstock? The core? How do the balls that you're reviewing in the video that day relate to that general buying purpose? The three balls you were comparing today are urethane. Maybe briefly explain the differences between the three, like this type of urethane has more break than this type because of.... So if you want more hook, you might want to look at this type of urethane construction. Basic useful information for those of us who know nothing about any of this and are just starting out. Next, maybe change your summary at the end. Give us your favorites and how the balls you're reviewing compare to those and why. Like, "my favorite urethane ball is...." "The purple hammer feels a little different because...." "The... doesn't seem to be as consistent and predictable as the...." Those kind of things. Some other questions I would be interested to know about would be like - How many balls do you suggest a typical person should own and why? If a person could only own one ball, what would you suggest? I'm sure you address questions like these in some of your other videos videos. You might even have videos dedicated for those things, IDK. But it's nice to have some of these questions answered in Ball reviews because these are important questions for someone like myself to know the answers to in order to help me decide what to buy. Lastly, Maybe give the viewer a brief bio on yourself. Are you a professional bowler? How long have you been bowling? How many balls do you generally take to your tournaments and how do you decide on which ones to take? You're a two-handed bowler, do you ever bowl single arm? Why did you go to two-handed bowling? Does going from a single hand to a double hand bowler impact on which ball you use? Up until earlier this year I didn't even know professionals were two handed bowling. Anyway, I hope my feedback served a purpose and maybe helps a bit in some of your future videos. Sorry for the long review. I'm just frustrated with all the technical jargon that is all way over my head and not getting any headway into narrowing down my selection....lol.
