This video encapsulates all that is bow hunting perfectly. The passion, the sharing of the passion, the mishaps from misses to hats falling, the second chances, the praying, the celebration, and the love for the animal. Best hunting video of the year on all of KZbin hands down. Congratulations to you both.

Awesome! A GENUINE wall hanger. How you got it together and made a second killer shot was fantastic. 👍👍 Isn't it crazy how that adrenaline will eat you up? As an old old bow hunter I am so glad for the two of you having these wonderful adventures together. Think of the possibilities ahead. The sky is the limit. 👍👍

Congratulations Rachel, that is one big beautiful buck. I’m 62 years old been hunting since I was maybe 40 I’ve never killed a buck that size. His body is huge. But we mainly hunt in Florida and South Carolina so the deer there aren’t really that big. My husband always tells me it will happen one day. I’ve killed a lot of deer and we mainly hunt for meat but man, I’m telling you it would be nice to have a big old wall hanger. As you call it, king of the double wide, ha ha ha ha. We’re planning a trip trip to Oklahoma this year so who knows maybe for my 63rd birthday it’ll finally happen, good Lord willing but congratulations again on a very beautiful buck. God bless you both.

Awesome young lady, thats exactly how its supposed to feel, respect earned, sub earned when ya said im sorry to that buck. We try our best to make it quick for these deer we love so much...and when its not, it sux, and its supposed to hurt, and cost us sleep, and bring you close to quittin, but just close, as my grandpa told me 50 odd years ago, if it dont hurt boy , ya aint a hunter, ya just like killing things, thats the gentle version, for me, as his grandson, It was , if it dont hurt boy, ya aint a hunter, ya just a murderer...im glad it worked out. One day if you bowhunt enough, it wont work out, when that time comes, its easier on you if you know you didnt try to shoot to far, or to fast trying to not let him "get away " , then, Give it everything you have to find him, let it burn inside you, and let the desire to NEVER feel that again drive you to be the best archer you can be, set rules for yourself, and NEVER break them, for if you do....we are usually reminded why we set those limits to begin with. Welcome to the family young lady, awesome buck,

Now this is what hunting is all about! loved every minute of it, great job. Josh tried to put you on point though by saying he was 25yards to get your arrow a little higher, you quickly corrected him by saying "no he's 20" lol
@RachelPflasterer10 күн бұрын
Hahaha I know. I did my due diligence memorizing all my range reference points on the plot prior to deer movement and knew that spot was closer to 20. The last thing I wanted was for me to be drawing back second guessing my yardage. It ended up being 21 yards, but I did aim low and hit low! Lesson learned!

if that was like 2 days after the shot, was the meat still edible? Alot of flys there evenat night
@BowOnlyOutdoors2 күн бұрын
This was just over 24 hours after the shot. Unfortunately, we saved and processed all of the meat, but it was not edible once we cooked it. It was very warm being in early October, so it didn’t take long for the meat to spoil.

We took all of the meat and quartered it to hang in a walk in cooler. We weren’t sure if it would be good being that it got to 91 degrees that day so we cut off a section of backstrap the next day and cooked it up. Unfortunately, the meat was not edible and we had to give it back to Mother Nature.
