This character trailer reminds me of the old dragon age: origins trailer with sten, leliana, the warden, and morrigan. The art style that so many people are crying about is very popular today, very expected from a trailer. I'm eager for the actual gameplay tomorrow!

It's not because of clout. Dragon Age is about a world struggling to survive, not some Saturday morning cartoon about super-heroes, despite how enjoyable and how much humour one can get out of it, it's one of the Darkest fantasy settings this side of Warhammer. We hate it partially because the setting is no longer the setting, partially because of how *ugly* it and the characters are, partially because it's become straight-up pornographic out of bloody nowhere and partially because it's apparently all-in on certain politics that have destroyed a LOT of games over the span of a few years. I think the Saints Row reboot was patient zero and that came out in 2022. Also, Varric shouldn't have a bears and it was a terrible idea to make every character player-sexual. Optimism is all well and good, but if if it's not tempered can easily get to the Disney cultist stage of 'I LOVED (product)! It's the best thing since (last product) and I can't WAIT for (next product)!' As the saying goes, 'don't think, just consume product, then get excited for next product'.

Speaking truthfully, the animation kind of reminds me of fortnite and valorant which has nothing to do with the tone and feel of an RPG like Dragon Age. Lets see in tomorrow's gameplay reveal if they have indeed made that mistake or if we are all mistaken.

never played either or really seen much on them I'm more of a RPG guy stuff with stories but either way id say its probably just trailer magic in a sense I don't think they will be going fully with the art going into the game. All the other trailers were alot different from the in game stuff. Either way I'm excited and will reserve any judgement of little things like art until we go into game. Remember my fav DA game is 2 so art and stuff like that don't matter much to me I just care for story gameplay and companions. But keep your head up I feel its gonna be good.

Also it's already been confirmed that the trailer is not representative of what the game actually looks like.

It's nice to see such a positive reaction from a big dragon age fan. I was worried about the game because of the trailer's tone and the character style combined with Bioware troubled past years. Thankfully, seeing all the info coming out after and other fans being exited is giving me hope again. At the end of the day, it's dragon age so i'm gonna give a it a chance always. Thanks for being one of the positive and mature ones. I’ve so many negative comments and to be honest, a lot of them act like Dragon Age should go their way, which was being dark and gritty. I never saw Dragon Age Origins that way, I only saw the game as some fantasy game with a lot of movie references like Lord of the Rings. Plus there are a lot of moments in this game that doesn’t take itself seriously. I feel like these fans want Dragon Age to be like Dark Souls or Berserk, where it’s gritty and dark all of the time. I enjoy a little balance between both if it’s done right. Hell, I even enjoyed some of the funny moments in both Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition. I don’t know what fandom I should be apart of anymore since they tend to act like the entire planet revolves around them and they only care about their image. They should know that the world doesn’t revolve around them and learn to be grateful for what they’ve been given in life.

I appreciate that my friend. I liked the trailer I thought it was really cool. Yeah the art style might be a little different but it was all really good to me. Dragon age as a whole has been a fantasy that at times has been gritty and dark but alot of the time dragon age has a funny personality. Some of the funniest things in games happened in the other games leading up to this one. I do think people should def give it a chance and see if its for them. I know every one has and are entitled to their opinions but art style in a game would never make or break it for me. I'm just happy to get another one.

I respect your opinion and am glad that you as well as others find enjoyment in the new trailer. But I feel like just because others disliked it it's unfair to call them immature and that they think the world revolves around them. You even gave your view on how you perceive Dragon Age, which is unique just like everyone else's. I personally viewed the trailer as something that felt very Marvel-esque and light-hearted and it feels tone-deaf on BioWare's part. I do think it's too early to tell if the game is going to be bad and we shouldn't judge it too harshly. But to me and I imagine most others, we're worried about the game since BioWare's last few games have declined in quality with each release (in the opinion of the majority of people). Also, a majority of the lead devs that worked on previous Dragon Age games are no longer with BioWare and Veilguard has gone through multiple reboots (was even supposed to be a multiplayer game at one point). At the end of the day, honest feedback is important for literally any company and that works both ways, whether you like or dislike something. I very heavily disagree that everyone should just be grateful for anything that's given because without criticism we could never evolve and improve things. Regardless I still really liked Bowskii's reaction as always and respect his thoughts on the trailer.

DA:2 was my favourite too! The story was really good and i liked how it was mostly contained to the city, tbh i find open world games a bit exausting after a while, theyre great but i never finish them.

I'm still mad about Varric's hair. Because no, red-blond hair does NOT turn black with age. If you're a blond/red-blond in your middle age, you're not going to be a jet black brunet ten years later. And put his beard back on his chest where it belongs, damnit. This is the ONE complaint I actually have and yes, I'm damned irrationally mad about it!

I didn't mind it he looked pretty awesome you can definitely tell he aged with the hair and his voice. I have red ish hair it darkened and greyed with age. When I was younger it was lighter brownish red. Now it's darker brown and black grey. But I think the trailer lighting had something to do with it as well. Heard Bioware say something about his hair will change in different lighting in the Q and A they released today. My guess is it will be red/brown and grey maybe?

@@Bowskii I can see reddish hair browning out. Red hair is related to brown, after all. But I maintain that blond or reddish-blond hair isn't gonna turn black, especially not when you have that color hair as a middle-aged adult. He'd be a blond or light ginger with graying hair, he wouldn't just have black hair one day. I've seen the argument that it was lighting, but I really don't buy it. His hair looks genuinely black to me. Either way, you can bet there'll be Day 1 mods that revert his hair color back to the way it looked in DA2 and Inquisition, and I'll be first in line to download it. I'll be getting rid of that beard, too, and putting it back on his chest where it used to be!

Strange I tried posting 4-5 comments yesterday they were all deleted so I waited not to spam more... Anyway yeah I just wanted to say how excited I am I'm screaming here! I can't believe we're finally here and the game is coming out so fast! I'm really glad you love the trailer and are so positive about it there has been so much negativity and toxicity when it was released. I'm gonna be honest it didn't click with me on first watch I didn't like the new more stylized art style. It worried me for the tone of the game. but you are right it is just a fun trailer and Bioware trailers are often so different to the game! You probably already saw the little 20sec gameplay preview clip they released on Dragon Age twitter... it's a shot of our rook and Varric walking around Minrathous and it looks INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! and very different to trailer. Beyond my expectations. Solas name was dropped too! ;) the additional screenshots of various locations they shared are breathtaking too, so I expect the game to look and feel amazing. So hyped!! Also I love the companions! we will be able to chose 6 different factions from our OC, most are from Tevinter Nights and comics! Half of companions too are familiar faces. :) I can't wait to meet them they are all unique with interesting personalities! I hope you react to gameplay footage hopefully it's not too spoilery I dont think they will release anything we don't know already about the game... LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO 🥰

KZbin was having a tough day yesterday on my end as well I was getting alot of notifications very late and half the time I would need to refresh the page to even see new things so weird. I'm excited about what's to come even if some of the art and mechanics of the game is different we will still def be able to see our old friends and finally get some resolution on the story and what's to come. I cant wait to get up to speed on all the books I feel like I fell so far behind over the years. I just hope i can pack it all in and finish DAI before this game drops. Dragon age is dragon age and that's what matters to me lol I watched the trailer without looking at the comments and was so pumped and then I caught a glimpse of the comments and I feel like it really did bring me down a bit. But I'm excited for this game! My mom and sister are super excited too! As for Varric, to me he is looking kind of like duncan, so I almost think he's gonna die fairly early on in the game. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be shocked if Varric dies (in a badass way) before the game is even a third way through...sorry to say it though Also I can't believed I missed the evanuris statues behind the dragon! Nice to see a positive reaction and comments, I admit that this trailer did not get me hyped but I've spent that last few weeks trying to finish up all my original playthroughs of Inquisition, got 5 left out of 27. Anyway, I think all the real hate comes from BioWare's actions in the last few years and all the haters who need to throw a tantrum and that people will recognize them, I don't understand why people are getting so pissed before seeing that actual gameplay and basically spitting on all the hard work that that went into this. And can someone please, what the actual issue is with how it looks, of read people saying it look's cartoonish or childish and I just don't get it. If I have an actual issue with how it looks it's because I didn't recognize Varric since I don't read the comics. Other then that, I like the characters and I'm interested in their backstories and why their joining the group, I want to see what the Imperium looks like after hearing about for so long, and I want to kill a god or two, maybe a titan as well. Also, as long as Varric is there being a smart ass you can't go wrong.

I wish I had the time to just play it more even outside of my LPs I'm trying to replay DAO and DA2 atm but its gonna take me 5 plus months to beat them probably lol. And I'm so torn as well I cant wait to get into the CC and make a character I wanna write up a few characters and see which one feels the best I will say that I probably wont be going rogue. With the race I'm not sure but it def wont be a human lol. I'm the type of player that always plays something else that's not human if they give us the chance to pick another race.

I do a little of both I was trying to work on legendary status for the account but its taking me forever lol I never done any of the DLCs yet and only finished a few stories in a few years lol I'm slow with the game. My fav character atm was my first toon and that was a male republic trooper I know alot of people hate it but I'm a military guy so I'm all for it.

There is ONE spoiler, if you're referring to what has people up in arms about a major character death (but it's literally not a major character death, that's literally just a joke), but it's more about what it ***potentially*** implies. The other spoiler is pretty much just the very last bit of the trailer, but it's more just a broadcast of "well, you broke it now this is what you're going to spend the game fixing." You could regard it as a spoiler but it's more of an abruptly cut-off intro.

so outside of just playing the games and reading the books/comics the best bet would be to check out my LPs of all the dragon age games. I'm currently in Inquisition atm I have a full playlist of DAO and DA2. They are my first 2 LPs on the channel so they are older now 6 years at least but it will give you a chance to check out where I started and where we are now. But I did 100 percent the first 2 games as best I could and went heavy into immersion like I do now and what you see on my BG3 stuff. If you don't wanna watch a LP try to google Dragon Age Books and games in order it will give you a good list of all the things in Chronological order. If you are interested in watching my older DA videos this video has the links in the description. Also I just bought all the comics recently on Amazon it was around 100 bucks total. And the books I have the hardback books and I have them on audible the version where you can listen to people reading them to you. Lol 🤣 I'm lazy at times and wanna listen won't lie.

Artstyle can work, but the fun PvP tone seems off for the series, as echoed a thousand times by fans (And if it was done like that before, that's just multiple mistakes then.)

I liked the trailer for what it was it was rather short though wont lie. But I enjoyed it, was nice to see Varric again and just hear his voice. The PvP tone I'm not sure what that means. Dragon Age did however have a multiplayer mode in Inquisitions but it was Pve. But again its just one trailer I think the best of Veilguard is yet to come! Cant wait to see some gameplay. Hopefully its spoiler free for the most part as id love to see some combat. But you know me I'm a very positive person. But if I didn't like something id def come out and say it or just stay away from the game.

I am so happy to find one youtuber who is NOT dunking on this trailer because i loved it. Sure it looks different( different is not a bad thing) but gameplay is usually very different from the trailers and stills from the game for what i have seen looks awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on this game it has been long time coming ( i'm coming for u Solas) and 'm pumped that our scout Harding is back :)

I started dragon age shortly after origins released I was so stoked to play that game back then and then DA2 came out and I just got so hooked. Oddly I didn't get many chances to play DAI only really went through it fully once since it came out but it was the reason I wanted to become a content creator just wanted to share the passion with others that loved it to. But over the years the games have changed so much I think my all time best combo of the games would be a mix of DAO and DA2 I loved DA2 combat and protagonist alot but then I loved Origins story and feel. But with the new changes coming I feel like its gonna be good the art direction is def different by alot but it seems Dragon age is becoming a bit more modern. Hopefully they find their go to with story/combat and everything involved. It would be a weird world without more dragon age and mass effect so I hope they get a big win here.

On companions. Emmrich, Neve and Lucanis are introduced in Tevinter Nights, comics, and short online bioware stories. So happy to see them back :) I cant wait for you to read the books and leanr more about them so we can geek out over it :) Davrin, Bellara and Tash are new :) Tash is probably nickname derived from "Ataashi" which means "glorious one" in Qunalat, it's how Qunari call high dragons! so cool she looks fun :) Davrin's little griffon companion is called Assan which means arrow in elven. and the name is similar to another character from Masked Empire :) So glad we have dark skinned cool looking elf too! I want a cool real Warden character again! Bellara is so interesting I really want to find out what is this gear and tech she has and what is this veil jumping business lol and of course our buddies Harding and Varric are baaaaaack!! man I'm really hoping you are wrong about Varric dying.. tho I know it's a possibility.. but I dont want to think about it lol. He needs to be our constant companion forever!

Varric is the hidden main character at this point lol but I'm so excited to meet these other characters I'm so happy we finally get to see new cutscenes with new people and we can deep dive into who they are and of course speculate and fall in love with them just like we did in the past with the others.

A fall release will DEFINITELY be before December. Anything after Thanksgiving they would call a holiday release. (And don't get me ranting about how it's not fall in December, whatever our stupid modern traditions say. Both solstices historically were CALLED MIDsummer and MIDwinter's day, so it's genuinely idiotic that in the 21st century we call both the first days of summer or winter respectively). My guess is sometime in October. September seems too early and any time past October edges us into holiday release, I would think.

Yeah fall is strange some say Sept to Dec others it's Sept to November. I always think of winter being December since it's always a butt load of snow where I live then. I'm just throwing months out there I've no idea the set dates of fall looking it up says so many different dates.

Mostly just because all this stuff about Veilguard gave me the itch for DA again, but it's been so long since I last played that it'll be good to refresh my memory of everything before Veilguard comes out. And keep me from going mad from the wait... When I heard that they were planning a summer reveal, back in April or May or so, I suspected that meant we'd be MAYBE seeing a holiday 2024 release but that it was more likely we'd see something for spring 2025 - March of next year was my guess. But now they've got me emotionally attached to a Fall 2024 release, damnit.

I saw fortnite I think years ago when it first came out. I'd say the trailer looks like Dragon Age The Veilguard. But let's be honest games all look the same half the time. Dragon age looks like the Witcher. The Witcher looks like Baldurs gate I mean it's all similar in their ways. Especially when it's just a trailer. Let's see what they got in the gameplay footage. I can't wait for it.

This game was not made by the developers that created DA, those developers are long gone and no longer with EA but the trailer Is missing the dark tone from the original DA but we will have to wait and see the gameplay tomorrow.

it was just a intro to the characters I imagine they will be having alot more trailers as we go. I'm hopeful and excited I def wont walk away from a beloved game series for a minor trailer. Bioware always seems to change from trailer to in game with the looks and art. The art work they dropped looks miles different so hard to say what style they are going with.

I think at the end of the day you are allowed to not like the trailer but also its a highly stylized cinematic trailer to just promote the game and show off the new cast in a fun way, dismissing the game because of that is just narrow minded, i'm sure the gameplay will change a lot of people's minds when it gets here!

Yeah definitely everyone can have their own opinions for sure I agree. I however really like the fun the trailer brought. It was tiny and very jokey with the companions but it has a charm to it. I'm looking forward to what's comes of it from here.

I played dragon age 2 a few times and never played dragon age inquisition. But for me Origins was by far the best. One of the few games that came close to The witcher trilogy. I am not very interested in this or next Mass effect. I hope I am wrong but for me this trailer was disappointing.

Origins was an amazing game I remember when it first came out I couldn't put it down I played that game so much when I was younger the darkness of that game was so good. I'm hopefully for this game and the next Mass Effect I cant wait to play them. Witcher trilogy was amazing I agree!

My friend you missed my point the end... it looked like inquisition when we stood there together fighting. In a dai trailer they stood there together fighting demons. I wasn't at all talking about the art style just how the trailer was similar 😂. They seem to like to use a scene where all the companions are together fighting showing unity. And the thumbnail I'm using for the video is pretty similar to DAI and the one they used.

Ehh it's ok that's what living is and being a person. I liked the trailer alot. The art style was very different then what it use to be but I think we will be ok as we go on. It still had that funny dragon age feel. It may not have been super dark and gritty but it's still there in a way and I'm feeling it will take off when we get more updates soon.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard. But its just one trailer. Every game out there is similar in some way to each other. But its a different style they used in the trailer then what they are used to doing. I'm excited for it either way it can look like pac man for all I care :)
