Im self taught on how to do pretty much everything. It ammuses me how similar you do things to how I've been doing them for the last 35 years. Started shooting a bow when I was about 8 years old. There has been a lot of trial and error over those years to end up where im at now. 😊

Hello Josh always great videos . I'm glad you and Tim have a chance to test all the equipment that I don't get a chance to check out..Here i Pennsylvania my local bows shops only Carry's a few big company's. Like Mathews, Hoyt and Bowtech. Or another shop carries Mathews and Elite. But I'm Looking At The Elite Omnia because of the 32 axle to axle. I'm a short guy At 5'7" with around 28 draw. But I really can't go to much more then 32" bow. For my height.

Try checking out the Elite Ethos if your local shop has it. It's a 33" ATA bow and has good reviews. Also with that draw length at 28" I don't see any trouble you'll have with a longer bow. It'll end up being more forgiving during your draw cycle and shots. I like shorter ATA bows for ground blind hunting and my draw length is between 28-29"

Curious as to why you didn't do the 3rd axis on the sight? I have this setup myself & took the dual trac from my Carbon Icon over to my Core SS & upgraded to the centermass mount on the Core SS. I may switch to the standard mount, because, like you I run my sight all the way in.... and also have my drop rest all the way in after torque tuning. Have had the bow about a month now - still fiddling with it.

I noticed you put the limb cable on the axle feature. I’ve seen others suggest that the position of your limb cable is dependent on the timing of your rest. Rest timing is dependent on the position fore / aft on the limb. I ran an experiment and it did impact how long the arrow was supported. Have you looked into it?
@WendellAbigania5 ай бұрын
Hamskea actually has a detailed explanation/recommendation about the location of where to mount the actuation cord on the limb. It's a very interesting read. Something about you want rest support around 50-70% of the power stroke or shot cycle of the cam. Less than 50% the arrow might lose support before reaching it's speed where it can guide itself. Above 70% there can be a greater chance of added shock introduced to the rest at the shot. And lastly fletching contact can happen above or below the acceptable guidance range. Everything is dependent on the bow make/limb design, draw length, and draw weight of the bow.
@Johnbobon5 ай бұрын
0:48 What is it about bows that can extend an extra inch of draw length that prevents them from being finicky or falling out of tune in comparison to those that max out at 30" DL?
@jordancler9313 ай бұрын
Bro if you take 3/4" heat shrink and put it on the centermass bracket that comes off the bow it makes a great stop reference point. I can show you!

@michaelniemeyer29985 ай бұрын
Yes if you buy the gen 2 offset mount it will screw into the offset hole and you can mount your stabilizer into the 10 degree offset with the quick disconnect. Currently what I am running on my bow.

My experience with the Riocord was bad. I shoot 50 shots a day on average. Every 100 to 200 shot, sometimes more or less, the ratchet knob locking screw would back out and stop the fall or the rest. Sending my arrow to the ground hard, ricocheting to space. Or giving me huge tail high tears. I can't apply locktite one the screw for fear of getting the mechanisim locked up or slowed. It also felt a lot cheaper built than QAD or a Hamskea. Definitely won't be using them again. Just my experience. Edit: Also, the vertical microadjust was too sloppy. When you untighten the locking screw to microadjust vertically, there was a TON of slop. Like 10 click worth. Even though it went back to the same place after locking screw is tighten. It didnt inspire much confidence in the scenario that the screw came loose even a littlle because it would have a drastic impact.

To me accessories are important for bows. I was almost on board with Bowtech. I saw the new black gold sight for the Bowtech riser and starting getting excited. Then I saw that hideous stupid looking quiver and said F this thing. Unbelievable they would half ass it like that. Bowtech needs to take a page from Mathews book and care about the stuff you mount to the bow.

I have travelled all the way up there just to make purchases from their shop or to have them work on a bow. I have NEVER had an ugly or unpleasant interaction with them. Purchased a used bow from them several years ago, and had them repair my new SX80 last year when I messed it up. I personally have had great interactions and will continue to support all of the great content Josh puts out.
