I purchased my Bow Tech Guardian in 2007 brand new. I have eight compound bows mostly BowTech bows, but the Guardian is the #1 bow of all. I've been out archery for a while, online school four classes to go, back to archery. Thank you for the video.

This exact bow was my first compound bow. What I remember the most, was how smooth and effortless the draw cycle was. The back wall at ful draw was quite soft, which personally I loved. I've never been a fan of hard back walls, I like a softer back wall as I find the bow is much stable as you pull through the shot. If you're pulling against a solid hard back wall, it creates too much tension and dot movement imo. I loved this bow and put absolutely thousands and thousands of arrows through it. Very quiet, dead in the hand, no recoil and very accurate if shot well. The limbs did split eventually though and the finish coating wasn't the best. No bow press needed to make changes to the strings and cables which was awesome. Never ever had a problem of limb bolts working loose, even when shooting it with the bolts wound out. Price was nice and cheap too. Zero regrests on choosing the Bowtch Guardian as my first compound bow all those years ago 👍

An example of Bowtech's design innovation as a manufacturer of compound bow. There were a number of these and the Commander model about here at the time. Even today continue to come up with interesting new ideas. Their new 2019 model, the Bowtech Reckoning, looks really nice and typical of Bowtech, has features that have never been seen previously. .

My first and only compound bow. My friend actually built the bow at Bowtech school. He used to be a bowtech dealer. Very forgiving bow. One thing is you will see your cables in your sight but it doesn’t bother you.

Good review Steven, Looks like someone fitted the General limbs on it, the General had the limb issues and recall with the reinforced limb tips. The guardian definitely needs an aftermarket string stop that would stop the string movement and make it even quieter. The guardian changed the game in vibration and quietness. It was truly awesome in that regards. Also, it doesn’t need a press to change strings and work on it, you can back the limb bolts out far enough to change the strings.

Still have my 101st Airborne that I purchased from Steve when the store was in Canberra. Mine is the Testerossa (black with red cams) and I absolutely love it. Also have an Elite GT 500, another Kevin Strother designed bow. I've thought about upgrading over the years but they both shoot so well I dont feel a need to. Thanks for the walk down memory lane Steve, I really liked the review.

I have an 07 guardian in black marble. I think from memory that when i got it many years ago, i was told that it may have belonged to your dad. Either way, i love that bow. There is definately something wrong with those strings as mine is only a 60 pounder and the strings dont flap around like that. I also have a sts string stopper on mine.

When I started in archery, most guys had to have a 70 lb. bow, to this day, I have never figured out why? 60 lb. bows a person can take everything in North America with a 60 lb. bow; save your shoulders. I run my bows a little over 62-64 pounds depending on the bow's initial draw weight.
@Hutch03112 жыл бұрын
This guy is so funny, Ive never seen another bow reviewer that constantly quits mid draw to keep talking lmao I've watched a bunch of his vids and he does it literally in every single review. I like his vids but I'm always like just take the damn shot, THEN continue talking 😋👍I loved this bow wish I still had mine! And good job covering it

You should really try to shoot a newer bowtech sr6 ,ss or bt mag etc. they are a completely different bow than the older models.

As far as the speed of 290 goes. I can't really tell but I think he doesn't have it maxed out on the weight adjustment. It looks like there's a gap. On the other hand I have a general and all it shoots at is 272. But doesn't have that eccentric cam.
