Separate bulk into 8 large pieces. Then separate those 8 pieces into 2. Then you will have 16 pieces in all for medium braids. Learned from another KZbinr.

Nice! You braid so neat! I love it. I braid hair here and there but I always separate the clients hair into 3 pieces because when I only grab all of the hair, it feels uneven. Do you have that feeling also?

If i'm doing a large size or the client's hair is thick then i literally take my time to split into 3...If not i usually just split with my fingers, sometimes into 3, sometimes into 2
