it's rare that i leave comments.. however, this video was extremely helpful. i've been trying to learn how to cornrow for years and i finally got it after watching this video countless times and practicing over and over... within about 5 hours i was able to understand and get comfortable with the movements. i appreciate that you broke it down step by step and taught good skills from the beginning because my 3 cornrows came out fairly neat and tight from the start. that sets this video apart from many others i've watched. i will definitely send my non braiding friends to see this video because it helped so much. for those still struggling.. i think it's helpful to walk into this with a positive mindset. pay attention to your errors and focus on working on that part before moving on. you can control your frustration by practicing deep breaths and taking breaks when you get overwhelmed. lastly, practice consistently and you will get it. if i can, then you absolutely can too. happy braiding

@@tinaw.6178 ok i'll try to help u out..my hair i short and wavy and i know how to canerow, trust me its easy..my hair has waves and is super hard to work with but im guessing u have curly hair so its wayyy easier to work with..i suggest putting your hands over ur head insted of putting ur hands on the side of ur hair..yes it does hurt more but just try it might just be easier and what u should do is when u part it into three u need to keep it super small so it can start at the top of ur head like hers did..when u have 3 small pieces now take either the left or the right and put it under the middle now do the same with the opposite side..if u did right first ur doing left again and u know...as soon as thats down u either take the left or the right and hold that along with a small piece and put it under the middle section and just for better explanation purposes...lets just say u take the right piece up with A SMALL AMOUT OF HAIR u need to put it under the middle section and u will now need to take the left piece up and do the same! Its really easy and i hope u understand what i mean..just ssaying this is what works for my hair and urs may be different bc as i said im white and have wavy ass hair that does its own thing and have this style in like 4days a week lol and hope this helped and if u kinda still dont undertand it i would suggest looking at Naptural85's video on how to cornrow..there she shows u how to do it with yarn and its colour coded so its super easy, thats actually where i learned to cornrow from! Hope this helped and i suggest watching her video and keep practicing!!! It makes perfect (we're all in quarantine im guessing so im pretty sure u'll have a bunch of time to practice and perfect it,sorry its soo long

THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!! I can do a lot of things, but cornbraids have never been among my skillset! I could plat and French braid someone else’s hair, but never my own. I took my sew-in out so that I could wash my hair. I’ve relocated to a new area and the one lady I met who agreed to braid my hair for me so that I could put my sew-in back in blew me off. So, my last ditch effort to get my hair looking acceptable again was to find a tutorial on KZbin. Thank God this video was close to the top!!! The last time I braided my own hair and did my sew-in it took me 12 hours over 2 days and my braids were unraveling- it was awful. I didn't learn how to do even the most basic braid until I had my first daughter at 28 years old. Nobody ever showed me and we didn't always have videos like this.

Ummmm, so you're actually amazing. This video was so helpful. I've been struggling to learn to cornrow for years, but the way you described your method made it make sense. Thank you so much!!! 5 stars!!! Please never delete this video lol

You have to let your hands have eyes that your fingertips see. Sometimes when you do your hair it's sometimes close your eyes and feel your hair.

Ropafadzo Manyowa you have to make your grip closer to your head, I had this problem before. Hope this helps :)

I'm gonna practice on my wife. I just had a friend do my hair so I can't try on mine yet. This is without a doubt the best explained (for the smooth brained like myself) to explain how to keep the braid traveling. Not just and individual twist.

I just wanna say thank youuuuuu, your video helped me become successful in plaiting, didn’t know how to do that before, AND the biggest obstacle for me.... Adding hair! I am Asian and Black so my hair is 2b, and also long now. It was a struggle with my hair strands on every finger and I almost gave up!

The reason we have two different words for the same style is based on the food con-sealing in the hair style during slavery. corn 🌽 🌾 was there largest export in America and sugarcane was the largest import from Jamaica. So we have Cornrow and Canerow

So basically, corn does are tiny under French braids! This suddenly makes LOT more sense. I was actually looking this up to try to figure out the best way to get my bangs/front hair out of my face while working, and while I can't do full rows (whit girl here), this actually gave me several ideas to go with. Your hair is amazing, by the way. As someone who does a LOT of braiding, I want to dive I to your hair and braid it all over. 😁
