We line box gutters with aluminum and they last for a long time.

Are you certain this is a box gutter? The model shown is of a Yankee style.

PVC will last maybe 10 yrs seams will start failing and putting outlets inside old outlets and making them smaller will not help drain water and will clog easily. Relign box gutters with copper or stainless to make them last.
