IMO the only great movie on this list. 65 was terrible. The Creator tried to do too much in a limited amount of time. I know that they were going for a T2 human/machine heartfelt connection but they fell way short. The vast majority of these movies deserved to be box office bombs.

I just recently watched this film, and I struggled to finish it. While the transfer itself might have been good, the way most everything is CGI, and bad CGI at that just makes the overall visual appeal extremely low for me. I wouldn't say it looks as bad as something you'd see on SyFy, but the effects stood out so much that it may as well have been.

I honestly love the Aquaman sequel tbh even a little more than the first one. But don't buy into people hating it because,it's always funny how quick those limited edition steelbooks sell out for said disliked movies all the time

@@dominicarroyo6269 yeah I liked it a lot. A great sequel to the original. Did way better at the box office than expected. A lot of people said it wouldn't even come close to making as much as the Marvels but in reality, it left the Marvels in the dust.

Edge of Tomorrow / Live. Die. Repeat. flopped so hard they had to rename the disc release, but it's such a great film and 4K!

Wasn't Edge of Tomorrow considered a flop? That 4K is pretty darn awesome. Overlord (2018) looks good, sound is amazing. story so so. The Thing is such a classic now it is forgotten that it was a box office bomb. That is an amazing looking 4K disc.

Gemini Man is a movie that I don't understand the hate for. It's not perfect but it delivers what it sets out to be. An action/ sci-fi romp with some really nice fight scenes. I've watched twice & enjoyed it both times. The picture quality on the disc is amazing. The rest on your list are pretty good too. Haven't seen The Creator yet though.

Hell yeah. What a cool video. Great idea Adam. Blade Runner, I love this movie so much I didn’t even realize it bombed. Waterworld, classic and must own 4k imo. Babylon. 100% incredible 4k and film. I would add another Ang Lee Billy Lynn’s Long Half Time Walk. Another really interesting use of 60fps. I would also add Ad Astra, The Fabelmens, and of course Last Action Hero.

My pick for an underrated film would be Adaptation. It did not gross much at the box office but I really liked the story and chracter development. I had a feeling that BR 2049 would be the top pick...looking back with hindsight now that was probably a sign that theaters were heading for trouble. Watching that on IMAX would be amazing I can't imagine wanting more

BladeRunner 2049..I loved the movie but I just can get over the hdr implementation on thr 4k disk. It just doesn't pop like other 4ks. The colors are great but low nits or something. Feels like sdr

The Creator was a complete blind-buy for me. It sounded quite interesting, and I really enjoyed it. I really like Waterworld. However, I'll stick to the Blu-ray release by Arrow Video, as that one includes all three cuts of the movie, whereas the 4k Blu-ray only includes the Theatrical Cut.

I would bloody too man. I would wish 60 or 120 fps becomes the new standard. There's just so much more you can see per scene and motion resolution just increases tremendously.

@@dominicarroyo6269 imagine everything in 60 fps. Literally. Still shots panning shots dialog shots. The increase in detail and motion resolution would be greater then getting quality going from 1080p to 2160p. Unfortunately that is still far in the distance.

@@sermerlin1 it's not like they can't do it now. They definitely can,it's just alot of people within the industry and people that are into cinema don't and won't like that idea of a movie like that hence why it's hardly been done

@@dominicarroyo6269 I don't think they technologically can, still. It is hella expensive to do anything above 23.976 fps. The expensive cameras they use would eat 3 to 5x as many tapes (or with digital cameras, space). VFX would take like 3 to 5x as much time to finish rendering which will increase costs tremendously so they can't just go "edit it in the post" and "redo the vfx we need to change scenes"... Post process effects... Then scene effects... The costumes, the set piece itself. in 23.976 fps you can literally hide a lot of set piece errors, the costumes into the blur of low fps but at 60 or especially 120... EVERYTHING is revealed. All the flaws and fakery of it since now you can shake the camera but you see all of the background and foreground due increased motion resolution (much increased clarity in motion). So far they've been able to produce few movies that were... Crap to begin with. Not because of FPS standard but because they were rather low budget and story was just... crap. Remember hobbit in 48 fps? Yeah the VFX was so awful and the background that in 48 fps (which is 100% motion resolution increase) you literally see how bad everything is. Avatar 2 was and is the first high framerate movie that literally shows how crappy 24 fps standard is. I just wish whole movie was in 48 fps or 60 or 120... instead of jogging between 24 and 48. You can clearly see how much clear and how much more of the liveliness you can perceive as soon as it switches to 48 fps (the spores, the movements of the foliage, the wisps floating in the air, the actual motion of characters) and when it gets switched back to 24 fps everything just appears dead still and blurred and stuttery as soon as panning is in action.

I have most of these. I need to check out waterworld and 65. I like Jupiter Ascending, only issue on that one is the 4k is pretty dark compared to the blu ray for whatever reason and the blu ray does have the Atmos track.

The only reason I purchased Gemini Man was so that I could test the 60p capability of my UHD player and HDMI cable/connection to the TV. Did not like the film *at all* but it's useful for testing out HDMI cables to ensure they really are 4K60 rated.

I don't care what anyone says, personally Babylon is up there on my perfect/favorite movies of all time. Looks amazing and just a blast to watch from beginning to end. You never feel that three hour run time and It looks amazing. To bad it didn't succeed because Margo definitely should have gotten an award for it

It is unclear if Waterworld truly lost money at the boxoffice. It wasn't very successful in the US but it made a lot of money in other countries. Different ways of calculating show either a small loss or a small profit.

The Creator was the title I was most looking forward to last year for 4K, and while the audio is absolutely amazing, the visuals did not get the same treatment. The transfer is terribly bit-starved and doesn't even look better than a high quality 1080p transfer outside of the obvious HDR. Biggest disappointment transfer wise in a long, long time for me. The movie itself was a mishmash of everything we've already seen a dozen times over as well, but the aesthetic Edwards went with saved it. Both the aesthetic and audio are great, but that transfer...ugh. Still have yet to watch Aliens in 4K though, so there's always room for an even bigger disappointment... edit: Going to check out Waterworld. Saw it when it first hit theaters, but not since (and I've since gained an Atmos system, so I want to hear it) and didn't dislike it as much as the critics did, but I also didn't really find it super memorable at the time. Might enjoy it a second time through. Also, 65 was a bad movie with things to enjoy. The audio is great, and Adam Driver plays Adam Driver again. The actual transfer was pretty well done also. Blade Runner 2049 has been one of my "demo" discs since release. Not only did I enjoy that film WAY more than the original Blade Runner overall, it simply looks and sounds fantastic at home. My single gripe is that we didn't get Dolby Vision with it...but alas, first world problems right? 🤣 Dennis Villeneuve has become one of my favorite modern directors, and typically his films are "lookers". Dune Part 1 got an absolutely fantastic home release, and I expect Part 2 to follow suit.
