I feel like we are in this weird era of movies in general where if every movie doesnt have shawshank or godfather level story writing that it sucks and it seems like a lot of people have lost the ability to go to a movie and just have fun. This movie didnt need a compelling back story and villain you sympathize with. This movie was the perfect comic/manga one off that did exactly what it was suppose to and if you didnt get all the references thats on you and not the movie

Totally agree with your take on people needing to see this as a comedy - I don’t understand how people can have watched the first 2 Deadpool films and yet all of a sudden expect this sequel to change gears so radically. To me this was the most perfect incarnation of the character to date. It seems to me ever since covid with the ever growing popularity of things such as Letterboxd and film twitter becoming a lot more vocal, a lot of people are watching things with far too much of a critical eye nowadays instead of just sitting down and letting the movie hit them in whatever way it hits them. A lot of people seem to be more concerned about forming a strong detailed opinion on a film so they can post about it on social media rather than just enjoying the ride. Social media is killing us man, bring back the 90’s.

Well, it doesn't help that one of Marvel's final trailers for the movie made it look more dramatic than it really was. But at this point, people should know who and what Deadpool is about. First and foremost, these movies are COMEDIES. And this movie was no different, and completely stayed true to the comic lunacy of the character.

I enjoyed the nostalgia trip, but I almost wouldn't call this movie competently directed. There was real filmmaking ineptitude on display, especially in the action sequences. They didn't have any propulsive momentum from shot to shot. Aside from that, the comedic voice and rhythm was off. The writing team was different and it showed. Love your passion and feel exactly the same! Saw it twice the same day and will watch it over and over. This movie to me was something out of this world. I think I didn't even rest my back in the chair. I was leaning forward in awe, clapping, laughing, tearing up even. Please make more videos and yes more on this movie and everyone that's in it, either in cameos or references. This movie I think was one specially for comic book geeks so.....let's fkg go and keep enjoying it to the max!!!!

Great video Coy! Loved this movie and somehow managed to avoid the spoilers before seeing it. Seeing Age of Apocalypse Wolverine was so unexpected and great!

Awesome review Coy! Gotta say I loved this movie so much, really have nothing negative to say about it. Ive loved these characters for so long that seeing them team up was a dream come true. I almost stood up and cheered when Wolverine put his mask on near the end, and luckily I didnt get anything spoiled so almost all the cameos were a fun surprise for me. Epic movie!

I truly cannot wait to see whatever content you bring to us Coy. You are the type of friend I would love to have around me to just talk and nerd out about everything. Love your passion and the way you talk about these things. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

7:15 just noticed your shirt. My daughter gave me one years ago. You are the only person I’ve seen, other than me, to have that shirt in all this time!👍 RESPECT!

Best review so far, thr opening sequence is probably my favourite opening to any movie ever, the cameos where unbelievably well done, gambit was my personal favourite, I wish disney could give chsnning a one off gambit movie to just to show fox how much they screwed the pooch ruining his chances at gambit! Brilliant Coy!

I definitely had a similar reaction to your Wesley Snipes entrance when Channing Tatum came on screen. I just didn't think that one was going to happen and not just be some silly little glance at him. Keep the deadpool content coming! I saw mixed things on Cassandra Nova going in, but was pleased with how she was portrayed so excited to see that video!

This movie gave me the same feelings as No Way Home, it made every single hour I’d invested into these nerdy movies and comics feel justified and recognized. When Hugh finally put on the mask alone put a smile on my face so wide that it hurt, and it didn’t go away for the entire rest of the movie.

I loved all the jabs! I grew up not reading comics and honestly didn’t pick up a comic until last fall because I’m now an artist who wants to make a graphic novel. I do watch New Rock Stars and yourself and Screen Crush because I grew up enjoying the 90s and 00s comic movies AND hearing from my friends how they differ and what were “Easter eggs” so now I get that *conversation* parasocially. I laughed so loud and sometimes was the only one to get the joke in my full theatre, which was a stark change since I watch everything Marvel puts out (not always the Sony/Fox ones though). So anyway. I’m with you on “I was here for ALLLL those jokes.”

Agree this movie is a graphic novel/comic book movie come to life and I love it! It’s very much inside baseball and deep cuts but I definitely got into it and knew the references. Seems the audience score says different than the critics on Rotten Tomatoes so that has to say something. Maybe it’s similar to when the critics didn’t care for Super Mario Brothers but the fans gobbled it up. Going to see Deadpool and Wolverine again! Always appreciative of your love for the comics Coy!

Love the passion as always Coy! One minor Easter egg I loved was Cavill doing the bump bump with his fists like he did in MI Fallout👌🏻

I can speak to being a non comic book person. I think you're spot on about it feeling like a graphic novel/comic. In my opinion, i didnt really connect with the flow of the story. As a cinamatic story, i didnt really like it but as a jumble of profanity and action, i thought it was great and all the actors looked like they were having a great time which is always a game changer for a movie

So happy with this movie. I'm very thankful I avoided most of the cameos and spoilers it was such a treat seeing Blade, Elektra, and Gambit. We basically got a version the Midnight Sons! Can't wait to see it again this weekend.
