Boxed bad flats, how to identify and make them right.

Great video. It's reaffirming to see others mudding tricks are the same as ones I figured out through trial, and error. One note. When you get bad flats on steel studs, it's due to the rockers screwing off the wrong side of the stud first. Stitch your seams one or 2 screws ahead, and the studs won't bend. It's not just the nature of commercial work, it's rockers installing seam screws in a slightly wrong order.

@@davidcorrea3225any finisher should be able to make the flats disappear or close to it even if they are offset a bit. I know in most commercial they don’t care as they just want to get it done so businesses can get in. But it really is on finisher to take a little pride and try to make them right.

My man 🙌 thankyou Still working my way through your content so sorry if you already mentioned. But are you using the 'booster boxes' there a Thai guy turned up on the commercial I'm on and he's an absolute gun. Been having a yarn with him and he's using spring loaded boxes and making the stand ups look soo damn easy whereas I have to stand on a stool to start and step down mid flat 🙄

No this is not a spring loaded box. This is a Tapetech jumbo box 10”. I remove the springs and thin the mud down a bit. Makes it easier to push it out.
