Boxer dog meets newborn baby

This is a special day. Our newborn baby is coming home. Dilon heard yesterday that he would have a sister. He has never had a contact with a newborn baby. We had to be careful as Dilon is an energetic boxer dog, we had to keep an eye on him.

We had to put my boxer down about ten years ago(cancer) .. got her when I was 12 at a soccer game for $25 and she was my best friend until I was 21. I can remember the night before we put her down, she was so uncomfortable from the cancer being in her lungs she could only sit up, not lay down. So I sat in front of her all night so she could rest her head on my shoulders to sleep. I will never forget that dog. I miss you sally everyday❤️

She will always be in your heart. I had to put down my German Shepherd from cancer in 1982, age seven, and I think about him and talk to him daily. He "visits" me in dreams from time to time. He was pampered and loved, but not spoiled. I find solace knowing he left us humanely and was not injured or missing. That would have killed me if he went missing and I never found him. RIP my Puppy-Boy.

I saw this video a year ago and it popped up on my feed again! And im surprised all over again :) boxers are just the greatest! Look how he looks at her, just wants to give a little kiss, put his head next to her, listen to hear breathing if she's ok and if he feels somethings the problem to show you, to help. His understanding is just unbelievable, no jealousy, no nothing, just love, care, kindness.

O, dear God, that is one beautiful little baby girl! What's her name? And I think as new parents, you will sleep better than most, because Dillon will alert you at the slightest whimper of that little one! If my Boxer heard a baby cry while we were walking, he'd quickly look up at me, like... "did you hear that? We've got to do something..." You will have many stories to tell! And one more thing... that little girl will grow up never wanting any other breed of dog, is my guess!!!! (I am that girl!)

Dillon is one precious Boy! He seems young and enthusiastic, but very sweet. The parents are taking good precaution, not because Dilon would purposefully hurt the infant, but because he is excitable and doesn't not know his own strength. Dilon seems to adore that hairless puppy, and it's being so quiet. I love when he rests his chin on the couch and just stares at the baby. The slightest flinch excites him, but he is still being so quiet. Then when the arms move he seems totally intrigued. I'm sure he sensed that is the same thing that was in the human ladies stomach. He probably heard the heartbeat. I'm convinced dogs know when there is a pregnancy. So this must be very exciting for Dilon. What a sweet Boy! ~❣️

Trust me there's absolutely no cruelty in cropping the tail, the dog feels no pain at all, just has a rubber ring on the tail when little and it slowly over time shrinks around the tail to fall off at that point. Boxers have terrible tails, standing half way up/down most of the time and thick, not much padding on them, very fragile. The tail is part of a spine and with boxers it frequently happens because they love wiggling their tails to hit them hard on something firm or even when closing the doors accidentally do to the length and positioning can happen and does happen close the doors on the tail, that can literally end the dogs life, mobility etc. Also the tail limits boxers free movement, I'm not for cropping ears as it's useless, plus it exposes to dirt and insects to get in, damage hearing etc. But for tail I'm 100% health, well being wise.

There is no reason for ear cropping...however, the tails are different story. The tails can hit a coffee table one time and your dog is paralyzed. It was never done for looks but for safety. I rescued a boxer in 2009. She was home for just 3 weeks. She was wagging her tail cause she saw my hubby coming up the drive... the base hit the door way . She helped, blood was everywhere. We treated her...but the damage was done...swelling and infection went up her spine. She was now paralyzed. She cant potty on her own...she has wheels now.

I LOVE Dilon!!! I have had eleven Boxers since I was two years old. I have many siblings after me. Boxers are protective! Especially with babies. Please give Dilon a chance, he will love his sister!!!

I'm so glad to see responsible parents and pet owners!! When I was raising my family I also had boxer dogs (raised 4 not simultaneously). Boxers are one of the best family k9s. Loyal and loving. When I brought my son home and placed his carrier on the kitchen table and sat in the chair, my boxer Max came right over, placed his front feet on my chair and plopped his big head in the baby's lap. You could see he was waiting for the babe to get up and play with him. As my son became a toddler I have many memories showing how loving and protective Max was. My son Michael like to lay his head on Max's chest as they both lay on the floor and Michael drank his bottle. Michael stood up and accidently stepped on Max's testicles. Poor Max came up snarling but NEVER laid even a drool on Michael. A homemade chocolate chip cookie can be too enticing for all. Standing with arms out (cookie in hand) Max thought it an invite... but not so! Michael quickly lifted Max's jowls and took his cookie back! No argument from the k9! (I know, gross but goes to show how gentle Max was.) Your child will always be loved and protected as long as Dilon is near. Okay, maybe slimy occasionally. : )

@@dilontheboxerdog Michael is now 36 and no... sadly my Max is long gone, died early at only 5 yrs old. I do not forget though. I have loved all my k9s... esp Max. Enjoy your babe and Dilon!
