Learn to use your footwork to deter a pressure fighter's aggression when using the True Boxer Stance. It is important to understand that their "movement should provoke movement". In this video we'll show you how to make it difficult for a bully to press forward by not being in front of them!

Question coach Would adjustments to shoulder elevation make it easier or more difficult for defensive measures. For example raised front shoulder for Philly shell like Mayweather, quick counter opportunities. Perhaps something like Tyson in a crouched position, both shoulders raised to protect the head. Or is the stance the best defensive measure to have regardless of shoulder placement. I know it’s more of a specialization of sorts but I’d love to know your thoughts on it.

Hi Coach. I'm hoping I can get some wisdom from you on the following questions: 1. If the defense is in the True boxing stance's footwork, what is the correct way for slipping and bobbing and weaving? 2. Which fighters (that use the true boxing stance and its principles) should we pay attention to? Big support from Canada.

He doesn’t really teach head movement like that to his fighters. Or rather, it’s the very last thing he incorporates. He hasn’t made any videos on it, bud looking at what he dies himself, that sort of defense is your last resort as you lose mobility because of them...

Do you think a good fighter should stop sparring going “south” or should they always check their ego? I mean obviously hard sparring is necessary for building good fighters. But should you always be safe more than sorry???
@juliansanderson839
@juliansanderson839 3 жыл бұрын
Idk about cook, but there’s a etiquette system to any sparring. Firstly that you should only punch as hard as your partner is willing to get hit and vise versa. There’s a difference between throwing hard, ko punches in a spar and throwing punches that’ll do long term damage. If you don’t feel safe sparring with someone then you should communicate that. If they just want an ego trip, then that’ll satisfy them. If they want to improve their boxing, then they’ll figure something out.

@juliansanderson839
@juliansanderson839 3 жыл бұрын
When you move to the left, you need to keep your distance on the opponent, as you still want to be able to land the jab. The only reason why those looping shots should land are if you step in closer as you do it. If you land still land you jab, they will need to lean in to hit you.

I'm not the authority on this but imo you apply the same principle only you're adding a duck to your movement when you're stepping off-line. As Marvin has said in previous videos he had a coach that would randomly yell "drop" when everyone was working on their footwork or shadowboxing and if you were unable to crouch whilst still moving then you're not properly balanced and maintaining your true boxer stance. So I think if I were to put the pieces together you; like I said would still do the same thing of stepping off-line only add a duck and body shot rather than a jab to the face but as you come back up you just keep the jab coming while moving. Then hopefully if you land this a few times the guy should stop wanting to just rush you with hooks.
